That cheese is amazing. Makes a great grilled cheese and Mac & cheese.
Just got back from TJ with my finds:
The amaryllis came in pink, purple, or green wax - looks like a lovely blossom.
Thank you for posting. I need to check my local store- my Christmas waxed bulb is still blooming and sits in a window where neighbors keep asking me about it. I’d love to get a few as gifts.
We leave the old ones outside on their own and have been rewarded with recurring blooming cycles - and seed pods. I am in year two of trying to grow my own bulbs from some of those seeds and have six little plants still alive.
My TJ Christmas bulbs are on their third round! I peeled the wax off one four years ago and planted it in my garden. Looks ready to bloom (and is very large now) once again.
Fine, I didn’t plan on getting this but when there were four carts at the doorway, what could I do! At least I didn’t get all four colors.
I saw a cute image online that put a bunny headband in the front pocket and made it into an Easter “basket.” They were limiting purchases to 4. I bought two and will fill the bags for GD & D.
My cashier said the line was crazy long an hour before opening on Tuesday. They still had tons today (Thursday).
@Marilyn was much better than me. I’m in the office today and ran to the Trader Joe’s nearby and bought 4!
Shouldn’t one of the pinks be blue? Quick, run back!
D2 is going at 4pm to try and get a few more!
Cheaper than the beanie babies and way more useful!
It took me back to the days of hanging around Toys R Us waiting for the Power Rangers figurines to unload.
If anyone is a podcast fan, last week the Freakonomics podcast did a show on Trader Joe’s. It was pretty interesting to hear how they kind of changed the marketplace. I know the professor, Mike, who is interviewed as part of it. A great listed for TJ fans.
D2 was able to snag 2 more bags which was the limit at our Trader Joe’s near UCSD. She had to stand in line outside to get them. It all works out since D2 will keep her 2 bags and I’ll split the 4 that I have with D1.
What is the deal with these bags? Genuinely curious.
According to my research,
Google’s AI overview tells us, “Trader Joe’s tote bags, especially the mini canvas versions, have become incredibly popular due to a combination of factors, including their affordability, limited availability, and viral social media trends, leading to frenzied shopping behavior and high resale values.”
https://ktla.com/news/consumer-business/why-are-trader-joes-totes-so-popular-some-just-dont-get-it/
But why is any viral trend popular, like those mugs. Because social media says so.
I guess what I don’t get is if they are to be used as shopping bags who wants white with food products? And if not for food, why would you want the tote for uses to day Trader Joe’s?
Agree with @BunsenBurner … what’s the attraction??
They’re cute! I see the appeal.
They are cute but I wouldn’t bust a gut trying to get them. I mostly try to avoid products that have names on them. Sometimes we get logo items as gifts but I try not to purchase them.
