Trader Joe's Trading Post

Cute mini canvas bags are a favorite of mine. Not for groceries, just for carrying stuff.

I would love to have a mini tote but they never show up at the TJ stores I shop. Are they mostly sold in California? I shop at least twice a week and I never ever seen them in the store (east coast). I have the bigger totes which I use regularly and I like them. They are also white (with dark blue bottoms) and I don’t see a problem. I wash them regularly and they look very clean. Shopping bags get dirty and I find the plastic ones hard to wash and dry compared to the canvas ones which I just toss in the machine. I have also seen the mini totes decorated with stamps, embroidery etc. Very pretty.

Yeah I don’t have anything against anyone liking them (of course) I just didn’t see the appeal of being a hot item. I DO admit to having several Trader Joe’s Reusuable bags and especially liking the colorful state specific ones - not canvas.

Are these a smaller size than say a traditional non canvas tall reusable bag?

Btw we don’t even have a TJS the closest is an hour away

I think they are cute. I have never seen them because they sell out so quick. My checker said Tuesday morning people were lining up at 5 AM and they sold out in 30 minutes.

@abasket They are a mini version of the regular Trader Joe’s canvas totes. This time they did them in spring pastel colors. I only knew they had them yesterday since I was in the office and my young coworker’s mom texted her and told her they had them at her store. The Trader Joe’s by my office is not busy like the one by my house so I was able to go at lunch and get them. I think they would make cute Easter baskets.

I have a baby gift for D1’s friend and I’m going to give it to them in one of the totes.

Funny…I’m going to a bridal shower this weekend. I bought the cereal bowl set from the registry. I also bought a box of cereal that I’m wrapping with tissue paper inside the tote (pink).

I read most of these posts before my trip to TJ’s this morning. My store had adequate supply of these cute little bags and I was tempted for a hot second, but I am mailing a deposit today for new kitchen cabinets and I ended up passing. I did snag a bag of the garlic butter potato chips and I just tasted them a little while ago - decadent!

My tote bag will be the perfect place to hide the afikomen. Although only husband and teleson will be hunting for it.

The tote would be an a terrific afikomen prize.

Actually, not selling for all that much.

I guessed that the spring amaryllis would fully open for Easter weekend instead of our Passover Seder and I was right.

I am now a big fan of the Pub Cheese with horseradish, in the refrigerator case. Oh so yummy, and spicy, and great with crackers!!!

Helpful TJ review article. Here are the items that did well enough on Yuka (nutrition etc analysis app) to make it to my ListEase (shopping list app - I have a custom category for Trader Joe’s).

Tortilla Espanola (84/100)
Chicken Tika Masala (84/100)
Kimbap (66/100)
Hatch Mac and Cheese (66/100)

Not that I wouldn’t eat some of the other items reviewed. Just won’t go out of my way to find them… ha, they’ll find me while perusing the aisles.

I adore trader joes but most of their prepared food is unhealthy. There can be a lot of added sugar, even in things like chicken salad.

We really liked the beef kabobs, nondairy taziki, naan bread & tahini from Trader Joe’s. We felt it was pretty healthy. We also bought fresh peas and cooked them too (rarely ever see them in HI). They do have healthy & less healthy options. For easy & inexpensive lunch we bought some TJ’s wraps.

Now I buy plenty of unhealthy foods at my normal grocery store too. But the TJ area by the door has so much nice produce that you get thinking there will be a lot of healthy food. There’s quite the mix.

I find the meat at TJ seems expensive. But the salmon prices are not bad compared to Safeway.

I like most things at Trader Joe’s - except the parking! Two or three of the ones closest to me are on the list of the ā€˜10 worst parking lots in Denver’ list. And they ARE awful!
