train crossing between 15th St / Elliewood Ave

Do the cargo trains on this crossing come on a regular schedule? Getting caught behind a train crossing with a ton of groceries is so annoying. Cargo trains take SO long to clear up. I swear it takes like 10 minutes or more.

I can remember some enormously long coal trains. I believe they were heading from W. Va. to Norfolk, probably on their way to China.

I was told there is no regular schedule for safety reasons.

First off, I’ll ignore the fact that you can easily walk around the train crossing by walking down to the corner of White Spot/Boylan Heights, eliminating any time you spend waiting for a train to pass across the tracks that you’re illegally crossing. That isn’t to say I don’t do it every day, but no one is really in a position to complain about the trains blocking their path when their path involves trespassing on CSX property.

Second, how often have you seriously gotten caught behind a train? I live on 15th Street (and have all year) and I can count on one hand the amount of times a train has required me to alter my path to Grounds/my apartment.
