Can transfers get alot (or any) financial aid/grants or anything at UVA; I’m from New York and looking to transfer there and wondering about the out of state costs. Can you guys maybe tell me my chances of getting in too?

Thanks

I’m a freshman now, looking to transfer to UVA next spring or maybe just after my entire sophmore year.

4.0 GPA currently, should finish my freshman year with this GPA - only 3 weeks away:)

Few other decent EC’S

HS: (hopefully not weighted heavily)
3.0 GPA unweighted with SAT’s at similar level
Section 2 Track and Field Champion

I know HS isn’t very good, but is that a big factor?

Transfers are eligible for the same financial aid as everyone else. If you qualify for full grants, a la AccessUVA, you will get it. You will get the same deal as everyone else. Also, you look to be a strong candidate for transfer admission, especially if you apply for Junior (3rd Year) standing after your first Soph semester at Albany…

At most universities it’s almost always easier to transfer for a fall semester rather than a spring semester. But in order to apply as a transfer with junior status you would have to apply after your third semester at Albany because of the application deadlines.

I think I’m right on this but I don’t know a lot about transfer admissions.
