Transfer Chances?

Freshman GPA: 4.0 first semester, likely 4.0 next semester
Editor/write for school newspaper as freshman

High School GPA: 3.25, 5 AP’s
Varsity Golf team captain, editor on high school newspaper
SAT: 1880
Good scores on US History, Literature SAT Subjects

Problem: Got expelled from high school senior year, finished at nearby rival high school (toy gun in car). Yea, it sucked.

Always wanted to go to UVA (I’m in-state), but lackluster GPA in high school squashed any chances. Do I have a shot now?

you’re still good to go no worries

High school grades are really unimportant, its only your college grades that matter and I know people that were accepted with a 3.6 in college. Though the college you attend right now does make a little difference

That’s not true fallacy. They look at high school grades/college grades 50/50 for sophomore transfers (applying after first year). High school grades matter as much as college grades do in his situation.

bump…

Hi, Battag19, what school are you trying to transfer from?

I think you have a good shot, definitely. A 4.0 is something to be proud of. The only thing that might be a problem is that although you have a 4.0 for your first semester in college, they might look at your high school transcript more closely because they only have a semester to judge you on. Whatever it is, I wish you luck, I am trying to transfer too bro.
