Transfer Essay doesn’t fit on common app

Hi I need some HELP!
I’m stuck on my transfer essay. Common app is telling me I exceeded the character count on my essay. Any advice on what to do? I don’t want to shorten my essay? I had read transfer essay was maximum 650 words. Is that correct?
Appreciate the help. Thanks

If it’s too long, see what will fit. And then tighten it up.

I don’t know what other advice you want…you can just put in what fits and not have an end?

Maybe you can apply on the school’s own app ? Maybe it will allow for more.

I have no doubt that yours or any essay can be tightened up.

You can use the essay review function on CC to help you cut some out.

Good luck.

Yes, edit your essay until it complies with the stated word limitation.

Not clear if this is the essay section you mean but if so, 1500 characters is generally around 250 words.

“ * The “Additional information” question word/character limit will be reduced. The first-year app limit will be reduced from 650 to 300 words max. The transfer app limit will be reduced from 3500 to 1500 characters max.

Are you in the transfer common app, not the common app for first years? That’s step 1

Are you applying to Texas A&M? For what semester?

The transfer app clearly shows word and/character limits at the bottom right of the box for each question. Your essay has to fit within those parameters, or the excess will be cutoff.

No option here. You must abide by the maximum character count and edit your essay accordingly.
