Transfer Student to USF

Hello Everybody!

I am currently a student at a university in Michigan. Over the course of this last academic school year I have applied to a few colleges in Florida as an out of state transfer student. Out of the colleges that I have applied to, I have been accepted into the University of South Florida in Tampa into a STEM major.
I want to know if anybody has any experience at being an out of state transfer student? What are the pros and cons? How can I establish residency in Florida in order to get in-state tuition after a year? What is it like living in your own? How can I balance school and work and still be successful?

Any and all information would be helpful!

In-state tuition is not an option. Unless you’re 24, in the military, or married…and establish residency in FL, you’re a dependent in whatever state your parents live in. If it’s weather, well…can’t help you there  Most STEM majors are employable out of college either way. If it’s prestige, you could apply to Michigan or Michigan State.
