I would like to transfer to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in the winter semester of 2016. I got a 3.7 high school GPA and an 18 on the ACT. I applied to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor for the fall of 2015, but was told that they did not have enough room for me and that they would be willing to consider a “sophomore level transfer, rather than the typical junior level transfer.” I did dual enrollment with one community college, took two classes and got an A in them (one of the classes will not transfer over). My school sent us to another community college and I got an A in both of the classes that I took there and the two classes will transfer to the LSA program. I will be going to a university and I will be taking a “lower level” math class because I really didn’t take a math class my senior year and I want to be ready for calculus or statistics. The class will not transfer over, but I want to be better prepared. I was wondering if this would look bad. I will get as close to a 4.0 GPA in college that I possibly can. I was wondering what the transferring process is like and if I even have a chance. Any thoughts, any comments?
