Transfer to US Colleges after one year at SMU

Hello

I did badly for my A Levels in 2014 but I still applied to several US colleges like Mount Holyoke, Grinnell, UChic (I know), Georgetown, Tulane, Franklin and Marshall, Colby and Lawrence University. I did not get accepted into any of the colleges.

I obtained an SAT I score of 2240 and my SAT subject test score for Chem was 800, 700+ for Bio and Maths.

I have been accepted into smu business school and will be enrolling there this year.

However, I’m not sure how well I will like it there and I also want to study in the US, as I really want to learn about the liberal arts (I was rejected from yale-nus).

Hence, I’m thinking of transferring to an US college after one year at SMU.

Can anyone give me some advice with it?
Like which colleges have a higher acceptance rate for international transfer applicants and what these colleges are looking out for.

I will definitely try my best to study hard and obtain a good GPA at SMU. I will also join an CCA and do volunteer work too.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

I’m really interested in one of the majors at uc Berkeley. Any advice? Thanks!

UCB and all the other UC’s only accept Junior level transfers with minimum 60 semester units/90 quarter units. You also need to check to make sure all your classes will be accepted at UCB. You can use assist.org to give you an idea of the classes needed for transfer, but for UCB you need to wait another year. I would post in the UC transfer thread since their are many knowledgeable posters whom could help you.
