transferring from Berkeley to HKU medicine

how hard would that be? I’m currently a first year berkeley student. I’m planning on applying this year. I was the valedictorian of my high school, i graduated high school with a 4.0. Didn’t score too high in the SATs but did pretty good on APs (5 and 4 on science subjects).
Thanks!

It’s tough for locals, let alone those from overseas. It doesn’t hurt to try since the application is fairly straight forward.

The “Curriculum Entrance Requirement” paragraph makes it look much easier than it actually is. For one, those are just the minimum requirements; most people got way above those. Because HKAL has ridiculous curves, very smart people do occasionally get a E in certain subject (most often Chinese Language/Literature). They don’t want to turn down someone just because he/she didn’t write well in old Chinese…

It’d help a little if you are taking science classes at Berkeley and get As. Reputation of Berkeley helps. They don’t consider AP as rigorous as AS/AL and “4” may actually hurt.

Doctors on average are probably better off in Hong Kong than here; I think they make just about the same money as here yet they don’t have to worry (as much) about malpractice/boatload of student debts as those here.
