How do you guys think about transferring into other school in your junior year? I go to a “very competitive” public school but am thinking about trasferring into Phillips Exeter Academy.(In this case, I mean if they let me in)
What do you guys think of this? If there’s anyone who has experienced this transition before, how does it affect your college application?

<p>Unless you have a very good reason i.e. you move home or you hate everyone’s guts and they bully you too, then I’d advise against transferring.
Not that the colleges are particularly against students who have transferred, but your application would most likely look better if you didn’t. I’ve had to transfer, from England to Korea, and I know.</p>

<p>Going to a wonderful boarding school in your junior year would not hurt you at all. Both D and S entered new schools (boarding) as juniors and the transition was smooth. If you are strong enough academically to be admitted to Exeter, you will do fine. The competition will be harder for the top colleges, but I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity for that reason. You will also have plenty of opportunities for extracurricular activities, including sports.</p>
