Napa/Sonoma.
Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. The most beautiful scenery in the world. Wildly awesomely beautiful. I go off the beaten track and have lakes, rivers, meadows completely to myself. (Obviously this excludes Yosemite Valley which is an overcrowded traffic-jammed people zoo in the summer).
Tuscany including Florence, Maine coastline, western coast of Vancouver Island around Tofino
The Canadian Rockies, coast of Maine.
Italy, Grand Tetons.
British Columbia - Vancouver city and Vancouver island.
Here in WA - Olympic Penninsula and Mt Rainier National Park.
San Diego.
Italy. The people are great, the food and drink are incredible and the history is jaw dropping.

New Mexico
Boston, NYC, Maine
Paris (and most of France)

Arches National Park in Moab, UT; all of Southern Utah is amazing! NW coast of Washington and the San Juan Islands. Kyoto, Japan. Big Island, Hawaii.

Absolutely. I’m thinking of going again in fall. Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands and Arches.
Yellowstone
Ko Olina on Oahu (avoiding the Disney lagoon) and many other places in HI
Palm Springs - in winter
Kauai is becoming our adventure island…
New Mexico. Great scenery plus green chiles. The whole Four Corners area, really, but NM most of all because of The green chiles.
Ireland. What a beautiful, ancient and friendly place. Great food too.
I agree with Napa/Sonoma, Kauai, Coast of Maine, I like San Francisco, Sedona, AZ, Vancouver Island and parts of California along the coastline. I would also go back to Puerto Rico and several Caribbean Islands such as St. Maarten, and Israel too. And parts of Florida too. I’ve never been to San Diego, but look forward to going.
Yellowstone. Bryce Canyon. Mesa Verde. Rocky Mtn. Nat’l Park. Glacier. Yosemite. Olympic Nat’l Park. Yosemite. Acadia. Do you detect a common thread?
And Tuscany and the Cotswolds.
Lake George, NY
Though my Italian is infinitely better than my French, I never tire of France. I’ve lived in Italy, but I have only been to France five times and those trips only lasted 1-2 weeks at a time. I am looking forward to a 2 month stay next year (fingers crossed).
And my favorite destination here in California is Kings Canyon. We love going old school tent camping there.
For now it’s Maui and Vancouver. It used to be Main and Eastern Canada.
Lake Tahoe is definitely another favorite place to go again and again, both winter and summer.
Where do you like to go, @musicamusica ? My husband and I are now thinking about a 10-day trip in October/November. We’re torn between Sicily and the Dordogne. We haven’t been to either; we speak French and passable Italian. We love food, off-the-beaten path highlights, contact with locals – and finding deals (small local hotels, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, places locals go to) – and avoiding masses of tourists, if possible.
