Travel- Where would you go?

The what would you splurge on thread got me thinking-
As our nest begins to empty and expenses lessen I am beginning to think about traveling more.

If money and time were not an issue where would you go?

I would head straight to the south Pacific - Fiji, Tahiti, etc. Also New Zealand.

Canada
Ireland
Switzerland
Thailand
Bhutan
Tanzania
Egypt
Hawaii
Bali
New Zealand
Antarctica

nuts, I’ll just stop there, as the list keeps on going, and I haven’t even started on the stuff that I want to see in North and South America, yet.

Rural South India. Oh, wait! I’m there now!

Ireland
Turkey
Greece
Croatia
Australia
New Zealand
Brazil
and almost everywhere else

Some of the places listed above and Italy.

Isle of Skye. Then a month in Alaska.

Disneyland Resort
Disneyland Resort Paris
Hong Kong Disneyland
Tokyo Disney Resort
Walt Disney World Resort

Besides that:
Pretty much everywhere in Italy.
And I’ve always wanted to go to Los Angeles.

the Aman Resort in Bora Bora [Hotel Bora Bora - Luxury beach resort Tahiti - closed for reconstruction/url
And maybe the Aman in Jackson Hole http://www.amanresorts.com/amangani/home.aspx](http://www.amanresorts.com/homeborabora.aspx)

I’ve seen very little of our own country outside of our state/region. So I would start with seeing all the great/beautiful parts of the USA.

Turkey
Egypt
Israel
Oman
Bhutan
Bali
Norway
Sweden
Greece
Kenya
Tanzania
South Africa
Chile
Honduras
Dominican Republic

Then re-visit, leisurely, India, Nepal, Burma

Italy, especially Florence and Rome. My dream trip is a transatlantic cruise ending in Italy, and then staying for a month or more.

Rome

How can anyone die before at least seeing the ruins of ancient Rome?

But they’ve arrested all the gladiators! sniff, sniff

+Israel, Australian outback, African Savannah

That’s my situation as well. I would head to the Grand Canyon, California, Washington, and definitely an Alaskan land cruise.

Top of my list:

Li River Valley China.
I fell in love with Chinese landscape painting in college, but have never managed to see it in real life. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xPay85-pwuA/TBzv5LCTuFI/AAAAAAAAACk/wfyQcNFAtT0/s1600/cruise_boats.JPG

Petra, Jordan
S2 got there this summer. I just studied it in architecture class. Gorgeous Roman temples built into the cliffs.

Australia, not so much for specific sites - though I’d like to see Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. But I’ve loved the country ever since going on a Neville Shute binge in my 20s.
I’ve been to Scotland twice for two weeks each, and I’d go back again in a heartbeat. Skye is just gorgeous and I’d love to spend a whole week hiking there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiraing

One of the best things I did after college before grad school was to get your tax dollars to pay me to travel around the country for nine months photographing fire stations. (The pictures are all in archives at the Library of Congress, and there was a book too.) The one thing we did miss though was Yellowstone - so that’s another place I’d really like to get to.

Italy
Norway
For starters…
Then China and Australia

I have loved visiting the US national parks. We have also loved our brief tour of Europe–Rottenberg, Venice, Rome, Paris, London & Bath. We plan to go back to many of those places. Will also be flying to visit S in DC/VA, as well as family in CA (we love both areas anyway). Yosemite & Yellowstone will always hold special places in our heart! LOVELY!
Not so fond of amusement parks but someday plan to get to Epcot.
Not sure if I’ll ever get to China as am concerned about poor air quality.

Greece, Italy, Australia, Thailand, Iceland, Costa Rica, Turkey, Israel, Croatia, Ireland, Tanzania.

Some I’ve not been too and can’t wait to see; others I’ve loved from a prior visit and so want to take my husband to see them again.
