Trinity’s website states “We are among a highly selective group of schools in the United States that meets the full, demonstrated need for our admitted students” but that’s not we are experiencing as the Financial Aid Office suggested we take out a second mortgage on our home to pay tuition. We appealed and they barely moved the needle, and the bottom line figure is still exorbitant. Has anyone else experienced this and / or have an idea of how to work around this situation?
Thanks in advance for your input
I’m unsure about Trinity, as they exactly met our FAFSA SAI number and gave us a package we are comfortable with. We appealed to two other institutions and provided documentation. One was denied, and one was granted with a small additional grant.
We are passing on Trinity due to the cost, my D did receive a merit scholarship, but it was not enough to comfortably finance. Her first lesson in economics, unfortunately.
So CatPoop😀,
It sounds like you are agreeing that they are falling short in meeting your need, is that correct?
Kids picked the screen name. Yes, I was hoping they would have provided aid or more in scholarships.
That’s upsetting. I’m sorry to hear that
Did anyone apply to a gateway program and hear back yet?
Waiting on committing until I know if I got a place in the program. Application email receipt said by mid April…
Does anyone know if Trinity saw a surge in applicants for the class of 2029. It seems it has not been made public yet.
I haven’t seen any data come out regarding the number of applicants to Trinity, but given that most schools saw increases I would not be surprised if they also had more than prior years.
I was thinking the same. Not that it matters significantly, but I would like to see Trin have the “buzz” and “chatter” that other NESCAC’s have. I am not sure why it isn’t and was thinking it may have something to do with the applicant numbers:acceptance. Regardless, its certainly at the top for us…
Hello! Does anyone have any information about trying out for sports at Trinity? My son is committed to Trinity, either way, as it was his dream school; however, he would love to run track while he is there. He has had no luck reaching out to the coaches to find out if trying out is an option. Additionally, to address the previous question, he has not yet received a response from the gateway program.
