If you haven’t read this recent NY Times article that highlights Trinity, it explains a lot about the process. And the balance that Trinity is trying to strike between having a more diverse class and bringing in sufficient tuition revenue.

But undoubtedly, there’s a disadvantage to having high financial need, and international students, especially, have a much lower acceptance rate than US students at just about every selective US college.
