Trinity College Dublin Housing

Hello! I’m currently a high school junior from the United States and I’ve been looking into applying to Trinity College Dublin. Most everything, from major to academic rigor seems perfect for me. However, I have one problem. On-campus housing is guaranteed for international students the first year according to the website, but after that housing is not guaranteed. How hard is it to find/get housing in Dublin after the first year? Would it be possible/plausible to get on-campus housing after the first year?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

If you read carefully you will see that they don’t actually say "on-campus’ housing: the international student housing is in Trinity Hall, which is a purpose-built student housing center about a 25 minute bus ride (or 20 minute cycle) from campus.

Very, very few undergrads get housing actually on campus: the main way is through a series of exams (three to four exams/ 8-9 hours) that you can sign up to take at the end of second year. Super high scorers get tuition (or domestic tuition if an international), food & on-campus housing for the remainder of their course.

For everybody else, getting housing each year is an adventure, but it does work out. There are a lot of options- take a look at studenthousing.ie or the student accommodation section at daft.ie.
