Trojan Wannabes (USC 2014 Hopefuls)

marmar16, thanks! I love it when people try to make me feel better, lol. Even if they’re all lies, it’s nice to know stuff like that. (:
Oh gosh, that’d be so sweet though, to have a higher GPA than average. I’m like 56th/354 at my school though, yuckkkk. I just wish my school re-ranked after junior year. It’s not that I’m a bad student (never gotten a C) but I haven’t taken TONS of APs like everyone else.
And my ACT is only average for USC. ): Oh well, at least it means I have a shot.

Yeah, we definitely should all meet if we go to USC next year!

And gah…now people are getting “acted on” statuses and mine is still “being reviewed by committee”. :(

@eiffel, I’m sure you’re next. Mine is still on the initial status! No change everrr.

Haha, I wish! :stuck_out_tongue: But mine never even changed to “forwarded”. Ugh…I don’t know if these status changes even mean anything (besides the “acted on” one…that’s pretty obvious!) That’s why the “acted on” one is the only one I really care about.

I know it’s easy to say, “Just be patient,” but that is what I am reminding myself to do. : ) I’ve told my son (the actual student applying!) about all of these status changes and he told me just to wait for something more definite. Why am I, the mom, so excited?

You are all in my prayers! (And myself included!!)

Didn’t someone say a USC person said they don’t mean anything

Trojan hopeful!!!

16 year old 3 yr high school graduate
south florida
Gay, but awesome (:
3.9uw, 4.54 weighted
29 ACT (aghhhh)

amazing recs + good essays… hope for it!!

pm me for FB if you want lolol

The only meaningful thing is that fat pack coming in the mail. I’m kind of glad some U’s like USC do it this way. In this instant messaging kind of world, it’s rather nice to have such a momentous time in a young person’s life come in a beautiful envelope.

oxolojo: first of all happy early birthday! happened to find out when checking ur profile page…then I realized I already replied in ur other thread talking about birthday present =P

And and, our stats are so similar! I’m not URM, also have 3.88uw and 1930sat (which might be abit lower than 30 ACT?) and ranked 55/350ish! it’d be pretty funny if we actually go to the same school and our rank is right next to each other’s xDD Then I looked at your other threads and realized we live pretty far apart lol

although it’s been said over and over…still want to wish everyone good luck! you can never get enough of that wink

No USC snail mail today (Los Angeles county.)

Last year, my friend’s status didn’t change to “acted upon” until a few days AFTER he received his acceptance. So, there’s still hope for all of you. :)

The only legit (like official, and not ELC) acceptance I’ve gotten is CSU San Diego. Every day I check the snail mail, NOTHING! And Eiffel, I still didn’t get the Davis letter :frowning: Kinda nervous… Has anyone else gotten acceptances yet?

For those of you who applied to UCs, who are you expecting to hear from first? UCLA sent me a message first after I submitted my app and they also sent me a notice to apply for a scholarship. So I think I might hear from them even before USC. They said late March though, so who knows. Did anyone else get this? Does this mean I have a good chance for UCLA? Hope so.

Even hearing from Pepperdine soon would make my day. I just want to know I’m going to attend a college that’s not SDSU.

I have a question about packages… do US applicants receive email notifications about packages too? I just read a post by a person in Portland, OR (where I live) who said that he/she received an email notification.

I think it depends. I wouldn’t bet on receiving an e-mail notification. They said they’d give you the news via snail mail.

No, I mean a Fedex email notifying you that a package will be arriving soon. I talked to the Portland guy, and that’s what he said.

hello so i was just reading some of the post and i see that some people keep saying snail mail whats snail mail? lol

regular mail, via the US Postal Service. The kind of stuff that comes in your physical mailbox, as opposed to email/anything electronic.

haha for some reason I just got the mental image of USC sending out acceptances in Morse code.
-.-. — -. --. .-. .- - …- .-… .- - … — … -.-.–
oy vey that would be much too difficult for me!

soadquake981: No, US applicants do not receive ANY notification that the package is arriving b/c it is sent through USPS, not FedEx.

Yeah, I actually got my official acceptance letter from Davis a few weeks ago! Maybe you should contact them…

Was it the Alumni Scholarship application? That’s the one I got too. I think they send it to the people with the highest GPA’s, so it could be a good sign. :)

Oh, and do you live in San Diego or is SDSU just your favorite of the CSU’s?

I haven’t heard anything from any of my universities. 5 of which I applied to in November
