I am an international student from Iraq and I want to study Engineering.
Scholarship:
Toronto: 100k per year, expected cost is 75-85k per year depending on residence. Conditional on academic performance (I need 60% average for yearly renewal)
Tufts: 85k per year, expected cost is 87k per year. Need-based so no academic conditions
Toronto pros:
- Ranks better
- Easier path to PR in Canada than in the US
- Canada has free health care
Toronto cons:
- Cold winters
- Very large class size for first-year (~1000-1500)
Tufts Pros:
- Smaller classes
- I know more people who applied for US visa so I can get more help with the process
- Nicer weather
Tufts Cons:
- US currently does not seem so great with the shootings and whatnot
Please help. I already enrolled in Tufts but that was because I did not expect a scholarship from UofT. I got notified yesterday.
