Anyone interested in DePaul? We are visiting there this week. If you have anything you want me to try and find out, please let me know and I will do my best ![]()
We visited DePaul earlier this month. My D24 liked it. She was waitlisted for TE there but they gave nice merit so far.
Same here on the waitlist for TE.
Excited to go visit!
thank you! I now feel a little like one of my students that I admonish (in my head) for not looking for information online before asking LOL. I will check out their website.

Twin A denied TE at University of Delaware today. Said it was highly competitive. Itās not high on the list though so hoping someone else here got good news!
We were denied for Delaware today too. Disappointing since itās her first choice.
Thatās thoughtful! Keep us posted how your visit goes ![]()
No worries. Glad I had an answer for once ![]()
Wow! It sounds like you have had a lot of success and experience with TE! Has it gotten harder over the years?
I have two more coming after D24. Will be interesting to see how my strategy changes by the time I am on #3. I may be like - you are going to our home institution and thatās it! If we do other applications I will definitely be a lot more focused knowing how hard it is to get TE and what type of merit to expect from state schools. I am sure my whole family will appreciate me being a lot more relaxed about the process than Iāve been this year!
Just think, if you have two more you are going to be a TE Guru!
I am almost sad this is my youngest. I feel like I have learned so much about TE this year. If I had to do it over I probably would have made sure the ones we were applying to were at least 11-40% TE given. (except this year that didnāt even help in some cases).
This is my only one with TE. The middle two went or go to the home institution and oldest graduated before we had TE available.
My son was denied too. Must be way more competetive this year. S21 got TE at Delaware and had more AP classes but lower stats than my S24.
Aww I think weāll all be TE gurus by the time we finish this process! And, I am sure you can check-in CC forums next year and provide some advice. Iām not really expecting anything else to come our way in the form of TE, but I really like feeling like Iām on this journey with others and sharing experiences!
For what it is worth, I did try and target 11-40%+ schools. While, I do the stats are worth noting, I donāt necessarily think my daughter will have a change of heart on some extra schools I had her apply to. That said if you focused on the schools you were really interested in and received an offer from at least one, I think youāll end up with the best fit ![]()
Just heard the University of Dayton is waiting for FASBAs and hopes to communicate out TE by mid-April!
My student got accepted to GWU today too. He said there was no mention of TE. Heās sat work and I am not even sure if he got merit.
I canāt tell if it has gotten harder over the years, but I will say I paid more attention to the 11-40% schools to make sure we had a mix. At the end of the day, I think the younger ones saw their older sisters go away to college on TE and they knew what it would take to get there. Twin A got TE at Gonzaga just tonight to there is some serious celebrating going on.
My son received TE at Syracuse and it stacked for full tuition. Just came out this morning in the myslice portal
Congrats! Did you receive the waitlist notification and then this? Or no waitlist and then notified of TE award this morning?
Was your son ED or RD at Syracuse? My daughter was accepted RD but nothing yet on TE.
Congrats! No mention of the TE anywhere for us either. We poured over that portal LOL. The merit award was in her admission letter. They donāt stack according to the website but TE would be a much better deal for sure.
He was admitted RD with half tuition Leader Scholar merit award. Never received a waitlist notification for TE. The TE was listed in the financial aid award that just posted this morning I think
