Congrats - S23 is at Tulane in the B.Arch program now. Any questions feel free to shoot me a DM.
Congrats to all of you! I have such fond memories of visiting younger s during his years at Tulane. Hard to believe he (and his now wife) graduated 12 years ago!!!
No guarantees they pull from WL but with Tulane being so heavily focused on Dem. Interest guidance would be to connect with AO to re-state your dream.
Best of luck!
Thank you, we sure will!
Hello! Adding some stats in here for those who are interested. My S24 was accepted after being deferred. 20k/yr aid and accepted as honors scholar. 3.9/4.3, 36 ACT
DS accepted. Sent CSS profile but he couldnât see financial aid package in Gibson portal yet. We are Native American.
Congrats on acceptance. If you look in Gibson Portal under Financial Aid there is a âTo Do Listâ tab. Look at that and see if anything is showing as pending/completed/needs action/etc. (as well as the Status date). FAFSA is likely going to show âEstablished and Requestedâ but I know FAFSA has recently begun processing so if you were one of the really early submitters of that and there were no questions Tulane might have gotten it. If everything was completed and itâs been a while I would reach out to the FAO. If you look at their website you can find the name of the person assigned to your child.
If it was just recently completed and nothing shows outstanding I would probably give them a couple of weeks before expecting $$'s.
Am I correct in assuming the Wait List is the longest of long-shots at this point? Just trying to manage expectations.
Assume youâve read through that already.
As a parent I reinforced to my son that it was always a good idea to keep your options open and stay on a WL but mentally move on from that school. If you get a tap from the WL, you assess that when/if it happens. Tulane didnât pull at all from the WL last year but has in the past.
They do say in their statement theyâve admitted as many as 50 from the WL. Whatâs NOT evident in those numbers is how many they offered acceptance to in order to yield those 50 admits. It could be 50 or it could be 500. WL yields I think are pretty significantly lower.
Yes, I read the blog, but youâve made a good point about the yield for WL offers. By the time those WL offers come, many/most have already committed mentally and/or financially elsewhere. Appreciate the response!
My goodness I am so sorry!!! I can only imagine with stats like that your child would have a great shot at getting off WL if you express interest in taking the slot or going for spring scholar.
Longish shot, but maybe better if you write a letter saying your student will definitely matriculate if he/she was admitted.

How much demonstrated interest was shown? How was the âwhy Tulaneâ essay? They want to accept kids they are reasonably sure are going to attend. Without good DI, they send even the high stat kids to the WL to see if they stick around.
