Tulane EA and ED Admission Decisions - Class of 2021

Got to gibson.tulane.edu. Sign in . Go to financial aid (top right). The award information message is located on the left of the financial aid page.

I did not realize that Tulane was accepting deferred students! I was meaning to write a deferment letter today and this prompted me to do so. Congratulations to all who were accepted!

@microrna Thanks. Correct me if I’m wrong, but is Gibson a portal for already enrolled students?

Gibson is for application status check .

hmmm. the site we went to for the application status check was apply.tulane.edu/status

i go over to the gibson site and the username/password doesnt work over there.

This site is for students who have been accepted.

thanks for the info. got it sorted out. also spoke with FinAid and they said that merit offer is NOT necessarily in acceptance letter. He expects offer, if any, within 7-10 days.

So, if am I correct in assuming if you haven’t been contacted for an interview you didn’t make it to the first round of the Paul Tulane, Stamps or DHS?

@luckyshanrock No idea. My D applied for the Paul Tulane and the DHS. Didn’t hear anything at all.

From reading past posts, I don’t think an interview is necessary for Paul Tulane or DHS. Some winners were interviewed but many were not. Not sure about Stamps…that might require one.

Thank you @3kidsinMA and @ignoramusdad I saw some people recently post that they were sent an email offering an interview so I thought since I haven’t been offered an interview I must be out of the running… I’ll try to stop worrying.

My son was offered an interview. He is a premier scholar and was invited into the Honors program and dorm. My understanding is that only Stamps requires an interview. My assumption is that the kids asked to interview are either on the bubble for the half tuition or they are using this as a tool to narrow down their Stamps finalists. I, of course, am hoping for the latter

@mylast thank you. I did receive the Presidential Scholarship of $32,000, and invite into Honors and Top Scholars weekend. I do have a 5.14 GPA and 34 ACT. I did get nominated for UNC Morehead scholarship and Alabama’s Fellows. It’s not the full tuition that I am interested in (although that is very nice!) but the opportunities that come with DHS, Paul Tulane and Stamps. Good luck to your son!

Admitted
GPA: 3.65 (8 AP/DE classes with all others Honors and extra classes taken online)
ACT: 30
Subjective: A lot of leadership and community service; expressed interested with visiting, emailing of counselor, and heart in the ‘optional essay’; great essays according to the people who I asked to review it.

@KobeJordan2423 were you accepted today?

@KobeJordan2423 did you receive any merit $?

oh well, D admitted but zero merit offer (expected). ACT 29, GPA 3.5, SAT 1270. looks like Tulane for medical school will have to be next option :))

@ignoramusdad was your daughter accepted today? I apologize for being so persistent, today has been rough and I could use the potential of good news.

No, she was accepted January 19. She was heavily pestering her admissions counselor at Tulane (is that what they are called?) and got in a day or two after those follow up inquiries. She applied EA and was deferred. As you can see, in the end, with no merit offer, she will not be going. No need to apologize. Understand the stress.

@ignoramusdad thank you for your helpful response! Congratulations on her acceptance, I’m sorry that she did not get the merit offer you were hoping for. I hope your daughter ends up at a school that she loves with plenty of merit aid.
