Is waitlist less of a “yes” than spring admission?
D was waitlisted too after being deferred from EA. I’m thinking waitlist is less than a spring admit, and less than a guaranteed transfer, which some kids were offered.
Thank you. I wish they made that more clear. When you’re stressed and hopeful, what may be obvious to others isn’t to some. I wonder why even have a waitlist then?
Waitlisted from Nebraska. I haven’t gotten any good news in the past 6 months. Hopefully I’ll get in somewhere. The Class of 2017 is a very competitive class nationwide so don’t feel disheartened if you don’t get into your match or reach schools.
yup! waitlisted after being deferred, applied EA. I’m from California and was also waitlisted at UCLA, accepted at University of Washington and Wisconsin (EA), and deferred from University of Michigan as well. I have a 29 ACT and a 3.88 GPA, and my mom went to Tulane. Pretty surprised but it’s fine! Good luck to everyone in the same boat as me!
@Deltoro66 got waitlisted today! I wrote an email to Jeff regarding his insensitive blog and half a day later waitlisted. Coincidence?!?!
S got waitlisted with ACT 34 (36 English and Science), 3.98 UW GPA, 5 dual enrollment with straight As. honor societies, governors school. Got accepted to all other schools including Rhodes and Texas A&M with close to full scholarship. Tulane was not his first choice so it’s funny he got waitlisted by his “fall back” school and got into his first choice with a bunch a scholarships. People with lower stats got in so who knows. After seeing their inept process we really wanted to withdraw our app so maybe hey sensed that!
@gogogogobruins Yea I have a similar feeling. I got accepted to really great top choice universities with merit scholarships for me, but then waitlisted at Tulane which I just applied to for fun. Oh the irony!
waitlisted from PA with a 31 ACT, 4.0 GPA, Varsity Sports, countless clubs, two jobs, but 10% of my class applied and I was 1 of 2 people who didn’t get accepted out of the 30 who applied, despite the fact that many were accepted who were under qualified than I. Tulane really bit off more than they could chew by making their fee free and taking in so many applications.
Looking back over the posts from the last week, I’ve seen 1 regular acceptance, 2 spring acceptances and the rest were waitlists. Preparing my son for a waitlist decision. So much time has passed since his EA deferral, I think he’ll take it just fine.
My daughter was waitlisted as well yesterday after being deferred. I think come May 1, Tulane is going to be surprised by how many people they accepted don’t commit to them. I think the free application welcomed way too many applications. We shall see.
@DuelingGloves thanks. My daughter applied late so I wonder if she’s being considered for next year instead? Or they just haven’t gotten to hers, who knows at this point. Did you get an email too?
