Hey guys, did anyone else get an email that they’re accepted, but their application portal wasn’t updated? The email looked pretty legit?
I received an email of my acceptance but my portal has yet to be updated. I confirmed my acceptance by checking under financial aid on the Gibson portal. I saw that I was awarded a merit scholarship, which essentially confirms my acceptance to Tulane.
I would bet on anyone receiving the email as being accepted.
It seems these early acceptances are primarily those getting merit scholarships. Has anyone been accepted without a merit scholarship yet?
Yes, my daughter got the email that she was admitted, her application portal still isn’t updated, but when she logged onto the gibson portal (had to say she forgot her password to get the login info) she saw she got the distinguished scholar award.

Weaknesses: GPA
I procrastinated the Why Tulane essay, did it in the last day in about 1-2 hours. When I first saw the 50-800 word limit, I never thought I could get it up to that level. Mine ended up being around 700+ words. I guess if you want to go here, it will just come to you naturally. If you are struggling to put things down, Tulane might not be the school for you.
So excited for my D!!! She just happened to check her email while the whole family was here. All the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and us were huddled around the screen trying to figure out if the email was legit. I’m pretty sure it is, even though the portal has not been updated. A very thankful Thanksgiving for us!

Good luck to everyone still waiting on a decision!
Hi y’all just wondering about some of you got that in recently via early action. When did you guys submit your apps? I was pretty late cause I was working on other apps so I just submitted a day before the deadline. Thank you and congrats! Just want to know about how long the wait was.
@jhw1998 I sent my app in on 11/13, tulane marked all docs received 11/14
So do you have to have done the fafsa to receive scholarships?
No idea what that is mookie. I didn’t apply for any aid, but I got the money. I’m not complaining (nor is my dad’s wallet)
This is a lesson - extracurriculars aren’t everything … I did jackshit these past 4 years, got 1 lucky act score, and here I am with $32k a year.
We just checked the Gibson portal (thanks for the tip on that, fellow posters on this thread!) and yes, our son is definitely in, EA at Tulane!! Hooray!! And he got the Presidential Scholar merit scholarship too - a very happy Thanksgiving at our house!

I’m kind of already guessing I don’t have a chance because compared to everyone who’s gotten in my act score is nowhere near what it should be apparently. But still keeping some hope.
Thanks for the tip on the Gibson portal, you have to say you forgot password. Totally losing it because daughter got a presidential scholar award of $30k/year. She had a 3.87UW, 4.2ish weighted and 32C on ACT.
Best of luck everyone!
@AlexDad2016 are you losing it … or your wallet?
Congrats to everyone! What an amazing Thanksgiving surprise!!!
To everyone else who has not gotten anything (I’m right there with ya(: ) we will! Don’t stress about it! Plenty of people from past threads have not only gotten in at a time closer to the final date and have gotten amazing merit!! We will get a decision eventually!
~Thankful I can even have Tulane consider me~
I submitted mine around November 5/6, a considerable amount of time before the due date for EA. There’s still a month left until EA decisions, and from what it looks like this was just the first wave of acceptances with merit scholarships. Good luck!
@2021Hopeful my wallet hugged me!
How are you getting into the Gibson portal? My son has been accepted ED, did not receive any merit aid with his offer, and we have not received information as to how to access the Gibson portal beyond the application status page. Is this what you are referring to as the Gibson portal or is there another place to log in? Has anyone received any information on FAFSA loans ?
@valletta click forgot password and type in your email.
@valletta you won’t receive any information on financial aid offers until the spring.
