@jhw1998 YES! I almost jumped out of my bed, haha!
Side note, anyone else having issues in the Gibson Sign-In page? It states that the request was failed to complete.
yes its so slow!
Hey guys! So I got into Gibson and its asking for a screen name but I don’t have one…or I don’t think I do? I tried doing my Tulane ID thing but its not working. Can anyone help?
@jhw1998, interesting… That’s what I had initially figured, haha. Wipes Sweat From Forehead
I was having issues for the last hour or so, but I just managed to log in. I didn’t see anything.
I initially thought the email was an acceptance email; the line that said something like “use your application status check to see your updated admission status”, I thought meant that there was an update (an acceptance). I’m a bit bummed now…
@sprights, Currently in the same boat as you are.
@IvyBred let me know if you figure it out!
@sprights, Will do!
Hopefully this will give some students similar to me a little comfort in knowing that being accepted is an actual possibility! Keep your heads up

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I really believe my “Why Tulane” essay is what got me in. I was vvery specific, touched upon my first time visiting campus and the various aspects of the tulane community I would love to integrate into my life. My personal statement also emphasized various topics I am passionate about, which I then referred back to in my Why Tulane Supplement. I attended every regional tulane visit and made sure to speak to the representatives present each time. I also took the time to fill out the “additional comments” section to discuss some of the hardships I faced freshman year which affected my grades
Where else you are applying or have already applied:
Accepted - Tulane
Applied - Berkeley, UCSB, UCI, UCSD, UC Davis, Texas- Austin, USC, Vanderbilt, Univ. of Washington, WUSTL, Oberlin, Chapman, George Washington
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: I was really expecting to be deferred due to my subpar grades, however I think due to the effort I put into my essays I was accepted. Take the time to craft pieces of writing that you are really proud of and think exemplifies who you are to the core! Don’t second guess yourself, I am so glad I did not.
@sprights, I got it!!!
i got a gibson email today too (submitted app 11/14)! do you guys think this means the next wave of decisions is coming out?
has anyone who got a gibson portal email get a decision before they got the email?
@IvyBred where did you get the notification?
Are decisions released on the applicant portal or the gibson portal or both? Would really appreciate an answer! Thanks!
@Jman8uu, I received the notification via email that I was assigned a special Gibson User ID and PIN to authorize my login for my Gibson account. Pretty shocked, wasn’t really expecting to hear from any of the colleges I applied this late at night.
@keurig83, Good question. That is yet another question I have also had. All, please feel free to shed light on this matter.
I got the email as well. I think it was sent out to all the applicants
@IvyBred You got the screen name thing? Do tell!
I got the Gibson email too. Hopefully that means we’re getting decisions too…unless everyone got that email
