@keurig83 pretty sure they are just released on the applicant portal
hi, i hope it is ok to ask a few questions here – (and sorry – i am a mom and new to this forum) – We thought my son was fairly competitive for Tulane – he has applied EA,is very interested (GPA 92.5 ACT 32, Band/Jazzband (with multiple honors) Rowing, multiple AP’s (physics ab&c, BC Calc, USH, EUR, GOV) his application went in on 11/2-- but we have heard nothing… and it seems like everyone is hearing something! He has not visited Tulane (it is far and expensive to travel-- and rowing season was all fall and he worked all summer) but attended two info sessions offered nearby/at school–he hasn’t bothered the admissions counselor too much (just a thank you note and a note telling about particular music honor he rec’d recently ) because he was cautioned not too bug her too much by his counselor - I think his rec’s were probably very good (he is a good student and well liked by teachers) and his essays (i thought) were quite good-- is ‘why Tulane’ was very specific (his grandfather lived in NOLA and played music there, tulanes commitment to activism appeals to him, etc) We did get the Gibson email last night late and the log in just brings us back to the main page… SO I guess i am concerned that there is something wrong with his application?- is anyone else in this situation?
@tem339 - since Tulane is need blind, applying for financial aid does not have anything to do with how merit aid is awarded. The two are looked at separately.
@saltpond -Welcome to the forum!
It is important to remember that Early Action applicants have until December 20 to be given an admission decision. Although some people find out early, there are people who will not find out until the very end. There is nothing to worry about, since the admission notification deadline is over 20 days away. It may seem like everyone is hearing, but please remember that TU has a large amount of applications to read, and not everybody can find out before December 20.
Anyone else still unable to log into Gibson after last night’s e-mail?
I got the Gibson email as well. Does that mean anything in relation to my application status?

@saltpond I am also a student of Jazz (Piano). As you know, Tulane does not offer auditions, or pre-screens for freshman, and auditions don’t come until sophomore year. Did your son submit either a musical ZeeMee, or tunes via the optional portfolio along with his application? Is he planning on majoring in music? I like Tulane because I can double major in Jazz Studies and Environmental Science. At other schools that have top notch Jazz Studies programs (Frost, Thornton, Berkley) it is impossible or unwise to double major, but they are damned fine music programs. Jazz is my number 1 criteria.
@pcjazz he submitted an optional portfolio covering three genres (swing, blues, ballad) and two movements of a classical comp–he is very interested in double majoring as well …
@jas9917 Was there any merit money offered based on stats provided? Thanks!
Anyone know when the next waive of EA applications are being released?
@chicorymom I want to double major in photography and something else do you know how to submit a portfolio and if it’s to late to do so?
