I was accepted into Tulane today! anyone else?

@nadia77 Congrats! When did you submit your application?

@nadia77 also if you don’t mind sharing, what were your stats?

i got in yesterday. i applied march 9th. 3.75 college gpa, 4.28 high school gpa, 31 act. i think essay matters most.

I submitted my application about 2 weeks ago!

4.0 College GPA
4.6 High school GPA
33 act
lots of extracurriculars
Pretty sure my LOR was strong

Hi all! I wish you all good luck on the transfer process!
I got in about 2 weeks ago (with a considerable scholarship) and thought id share my stats just incase anyone finds it helpful.

4.0 College GPA
HS - tested out and graduated early so didn’t send grades just the document saying I passed
SAT/ACT - didn’t submit
LOR - very strong
Major - Econ

*submitted early action

EC’s/Hooks

  • Started college at 16
  • studied internationally last summer
-worked many jobs (not academically related)
  • significant public speaking
  • others including teaching ESL, a lot of music etc.

Overall I think what got me in were my essays - especially ā€œWhy Tulaneā€ - strong grades and unique circumstance of graduating early. To put in context, Tulane was a safety school for me in my situation.

Hope that helps and lmk if you have any questions! Good luck again.

Congrats to those that have made it in! My application has been in for a little over a week now so I definitely submitted late!

Good luck to everyone!

Based on your description I assume you’re currently attending the same school I am, the one next door to Tulane? I’m a business major as well and I resonate with a lot of your reasons for considering transfer. I think you should go for it. If we both get in we may see each other around. Good luck!

Accepted to Newcomb-Tulane College with a $11,000 annual scholarship!

@OJJJJJJJJBK Congratulations!

hey guys! I was just admitted to Tulane about 20 minutes ago with a scholarship!

@keepthatsmile Awesome! When did you apply?

I turned in my common application Feb 2nd, but got all my materials in March 25th. They started reviewing my application the 25th! Good luck to you guys! Let me know if I can help you in any way!!

To anyone who was previously accepted- did you receive a formal letter in the mail? Do you think they will be doing this despite the coronavirus?

Admitted April 17. Submitted all materials March 19. Good luck, y’all. Roll wave.

@keepthatsmile I didn’t receive anything in the mail! The decision was just posted as an update to my portal.

Has anyone gotten rejected so far? Super nervous because Tulane is a top choice of mine but I applied on April 15 yikes
GPA is 3.5 for the fall and 4.0 for spring
ACT 35

ahhhh my chances aren’t looking too great. my college gpa is at a 3.5 and my HS gpa is low and my sat is too (1210). I did write both the personal statement and the optional why Tulane essay but I submitted my app on 04/15. I haven’t submitted my FAFSA or CSS profile, will they not review my application until I’ve submitted those?

If accepted, I’d be transferring in as a junior! I’m from San Diego, CA (not to far from SDSU) as well!

Idk if this will help anyone, but I was accepted to Tulane to transfer in as a junior! I did their early application and applied as a psych/early ed major and wrote my essay specific to Tulane and what I wanted to do there. I had a 3.85 college GPA and a similar one in high school. Low test scores, but I was able to have the test requirements waived because of my grades. If you have low test scores too, don’t assume you will be rejected! You might be able to get the requirement waived. For me I felt that having a strong passion and explaining how that school can help me achieve my goals was helpful. But to be honest, I feel we can never really be sure what it is that gets us accepted by colleges. Goooood luck!
