Has anyone heard? I was deferred EA and haven’t seen any movement on my portal
I’m almost positive Spring Scholar admission is non binding, even if you applied ED. But you won’t be reconsidered for fall admission. It is mentioned on the Tulane admissions blog from a couple of years ago.

I don’t see anything. I called earlier, they said if you were deferred but are accepted as a Spring Scholar you will be notified, but if you are not accepted today you won’t be notified.

You were deferred and opted to go EDII? If you were deferred to RD and didn’t opt into EDII, that decision date is still to come.
It’s my understanding that if you applied ED or EDII and were ACCEPTED under one of those 2 applications, you would not be a Spring Scholar. If you applied ED or EDII and were deferred that automatically releases you from any “binding” and you can accept Spring Scholar (or not) at your discretion.

They posted on Instagram that they were admitting a small group of ED1/EA kids who were deferred as spring scholars today.

Yes, he wanted big school, big sports culture as a fan, warmer weather so he has that to chose from. It is bizarre to think he’ll most likely turn down the Ivy his granddad and aunt attended but it’s his path and honestly the reality is where you attend college is different than previous generations. The announcement also stipulated that kids had to have indicated they were open to Spring Scholars program (assume they did that when they indicated continued interest after deferment).
Anybody heard any dates for the big scholarships (PT, DHS and Service Awards) ?
Has anyone received their financial aid letter yet? Daughter admitted EA in December. Thanks in advance for the replies.

If you look up the FA office website you can find the contact information of your daughters person (it’s done alphabetically). I’ve been in contact with them for various reasons and have always found them very quick to respond and helpful.
I’m sure they want FAFSA information to finalize any awards - and that won’t be until March at best - I don’t know if they intend to issue preliminary/estimated packages or not.
My son rec’d an email from the FA dept a couple weeks after he was admitted EA. Had to log into Gibson to see the merit + FA. Not sure if timing of awards is based upon CSS being submitted, but we submitted ours well ahead of the deadline.
We recently got provisional FinAid package based on CSS only.

How was the aid?
Ours was pretty spot-on w/our NPC. Son rec’d a merit scholarship w/admission letter and the FA increased the overall package, but still expensive.
