Tulane University Early Decision / Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

“Right now, if everything is turned in and completed it is our goal to have need-based aid notifications out by February 15th for Early Action admitted students.”

The above is part of an email from my daughter’s admission counselor in response to a question about the timing of the issuance of financial aid letters.

My Gibson portal updated the status of my stuff to “reviewed and completed” but hasn’t given me an offer yet

I’m hoping that since ED2 is out maybe they will start solidifying the competitive scholarships.
After looking back at other threads it seems like early to mid Feb was the time frame except last year it was Mar.

Not sure how many they award but from what I’ve read Paul Tulane is most prestigious and full tuition and Deans Honor is half tuition.

Stamps would be the most prestigious, and would be a full ride (tuition + room/board + stipend).

Deans’ Honor Scholarship & Paul Tulane Award are Tulane’s signature full-tuition scholarships, with winners notified in late February. Not sure if either is “more prestigious” than the other. DHS is full, not half.

Either of those, or of course Stamps, would wonderful for any student!

There is only 5 stamps given out. Not sure about the rest. Does anybody know those numbers?

~60-75 DHS and ~50 PTA based on some historical threads on this forum

Is that by class or awarded to the school though - because they’re four year scholarships, correct?

If they awarded that many to each incoming class it would imply they have 450-500 kids at the school that get full scholarship. Out of 8K undergrad enrollment - seems like a big %.

Any updates on when the big Tulane scholarships could come out?

For those who were admitted, congratulations!

Our son is currently a junior and is very interested in Tulane. He’s not a STEM major and is debating between AP Stats and AP Calc AB for his senior year? For those admitted, curious how important Calc is for non-STEM majors and any of you got accepted without it in HS?

DS24 non stem admitted taking AP Stat

Thank you! So no AP Calc? ED1/2 or EA?

No AP Calc! EA admit.

Great! TYSM! Did your DS submit scores or apply test optional? Would love hear more on background for anything you’re willing to share!

TO. OOS. Tons of demonstrated interest and emails to admissions officer. 3.9 unweighted GPA. Business major. Lots of community service, which was explained in detail in the Tulane essay.

If your child really wants Tulane. ED.

D22, non stem, was admitted with Honors calc (don’t remember if her HS even offered AP Calc though). Your son would have to take calc at Tulane though (if I remember correctly only calc or a logic class satisfy the Math requirement)

S24 was a EA applicant, deferred to RD and accepted. Non-Stem. He DID take AP Calc but at the time he applied there would have been no grades applicable to it and I’m not sure they even looked at a mid-year grade update. I can only guess but I would not think taking AP Calc over AP Stat or vice versa would not weigh very much on an admission evaluation.

S was 3.8UW, did not submit scores. At an admissions presentation they advised against submitting scores unless you were in the top 50th percentile of scores they publish (which over time will push up their published score profile!).

Tulane very big on Dem Int. and as @MDMom27 said, if your kid REALLY wants Tulane and it’s financially feasible. ED is the way to go.

I know someone that called admission yesterday to get an update and they said beginning to mid March. I hoping that it’s sooner! We are eager to hear as well!

Admitted EA … my son did not take AP Calculus Non STEM
He did submit test scores 34 ACT, 3.96 unweighted, 4.6 weighted. Tons of AP with all 5s, community service, SGA and school ambassador. Lots of demonstrated interest.
