His scholarship was very good 25K per year. We don’t qualify for any federal aid so we need all the help we can get!

Actually the current freshman class has 8 Stamps Scholars. Don’t know if it was a permanent increase or just special for them.
@KKreis - I understand Stamps winners have historically been chosen from the PT/DHS pool. Do you know what happens to those who are passed over for PT/DHS and DO go on to Stamps interviews, but aren’t ultimately awarded a Stamps?
Seems odd to pass over such highly qualified students by not deciding Stamps Award first from the PT/DHS pool; this would allow the university to award a PT/DHS to Stamps finalists that were not award winners, instead of what may just be a modest merit bump?

From what I understand, if you are good enough to make it into the Stamps pool but don’t get Stamps then they add you to PT/DHS scholarship.
My daughters roommate is also a Stamps, but she was on the waiting list and when someone turned down the Tulane Stamps, she got added, but I beleive she was told she would have the full tuition if she wasn’t picked.

Great to know! We are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the scholarships. Will it be posted on the Green Wave portal where they received their admissions letter?

So when these are announced, if it happens in the same sequence as you and your child experienced, then a “no PT/DHS” on Friday followed by a Monday invite to Stamps finalist interviews is a great thing. Not only does one have a shot at Stamps, but then if it doesn’t work out, PT/DHS is quite a consolation prize! Just makes the child go through a stressful weekend wondering if TU may not work out…until the mail arrives early the next week.

Not for sure here, but I think they have fixed that terrible weekend thing, but I don’t know for sure. My daughter is a senior and she was abroad both semesters junior year so she isn’t as close with the younger Stamps anymore.

Any new insight into merit scholarships release dates? I had heard 2/28 or 2/29 but it’s 2/28 now so idk

no notification for us. What does that mean ?
I don’t think there was a notification sent. My son attended a local admitted students event tonight and the admissions officer said they would be announced through the Green Wave portal tomorrow 2/29 at 4pm.

I got my initial financial aid information back pending FAFSA! For people waiting and for people wanting to apply next year, after merit aid, financial aid, and TOPS (Louisiana’s governmental scholarship for students staying in-state), I ended up with a net price almost the exact same as the EFC from the net price calculator.
And for those with divorced parents, the price was higher than the net price calculator estimate using just my custodial parent’s info by about $3-5k. It’s worth noting that my noncustodial parent only makes $25k. But, their spouse made about $175-200k in 2022. So they clearly don’t look at stepparents very heavily which is great for me and other kids with stepparents who make good money but aren’t directly contributing.
Also, it doesn’t really matter now but I ran the net price calculator once about a year ago and got the nearly spot-on number. Then I ran it a month or so ago and got an EFC nearly double….but I used the exact same numbers. So if you got a super high number from their calculator recently it might have been a glitch or something

My son did not get the extra scholarship but his merit was increased an additional 5K for his submission!

Not sure if you intended to reply to one of my posts with the question or if it was more of a general broadcast. I have no idea if anyone on the board got an award. Given the small number that gets handed out and the small sample of parents/students that might be on Coll Conf. - quite possible no-one that got an award is here.
Family friend received the Tulane scholarship. Full ride!
