I had this set. Three of the cups have survived, but only one sippy lid. I have used them for all of my grands. I also have some of the small cups that matched these that could hold small servings of cereal, fruit, etc. and I have several of the lids that work on those. I investigated getting more cups & sippy lids when first grand came along, but found them to be really expensive and the colors were ugly, IMO.
I think I might have one or two sippy cups in the basement. Still awaiting grandkids!
Anyone recognize this? I have not used it in at least 20 years.
These otoh get used all the time. I like that there is both a 2/3 and 3/4 cup option.
My mom still has and uses all shown in your photo. We fed the dog out of the olive green one for ten years.
My kids and grandkids loved the sippy cups.
Oh…the hamburger press. I gave that to my preschool teacher so the kids could use it with play doh. That was a crappy item!
Is the thing with the handle a hamburger press? I never had that, but had two sets of hamburger containers for freezing burgers. Watched for years for availability of that product as D had expressed interest (her MIL brings meat from MS when they come to visit as if we don’t have meat in Nashville and I love that her love language includes ribeye steaks that SIL grills to delicious perfection
). Spotted the hamburger thingies in the online catalogue earlier this summer and sent D the link. She replied within an hour that she had ordered. I think D has come to feel as I do that there are some good storage options around in other brands, but often Tupperware is best.
Yes. And it wasn’t an easy thing to sell!
I had a hamburger press and loved it!
I never make hamburgers though I’m perfectly happy to eat them at other people’s cookouts. Even when I did, I thought it was way more trouble than just using your hands.
Oh I have more than that! Just apologies, don’t have time to pull it all out.
I have those measuring cups. Got them in 1989. Still use them almost every day. You’re right about the 2/3 and 1/3 cups.
These are obviously not Tupperware, but I got these measuring cups 11 years ago and still love them. Includes 2/3 and 3/4. Sorry to go ot!
We have and it that all the time. Lol
@Marilyn’s Anita Bryant video continues to automatically play many Tupperware ads. One from 1984 has a mom saying, “I make enough money to make dreams come true.” Then the daughter says, “Like college!” LOL, these days it would take a lot of Tupperware parties to pay for college.
Yes, I watched all the ads. Probably should post on the insomniacs thread.
Just to clarify - like many bk companies, Tupperware isn’t going out of business.
They’ll likely wipe away debt, eliminate employees, maybe even license their strong name…but they’re not going away. From the CEO:
In a statement, Tupperware President and CEO Laurie Ann Goldman acknowledged Tupperware’s recent financial struggles and said that the bankruptcy process is meant to provide “essential flexibility” as the company pursues this transformation. She also maintained that the brand wasn’t going anywhere.
“Whether you are a dedicated member of our Tupperware team, sell, cook with, or simply love our Tupperware products, you are a part of our Tupperware family,” Goldman said in a statement. “We plan to continue serving our valued customers with the high-quality products they love and trust throughout this process.”
Yup. It is a so called Chapter 11 bk, meaning the company is seeking protection from creditors that might be ready to tear it apart and has plans to/hopes to survive. Not all exit Ch 11 alive, but many do.
I used to have some second hand Tupperware bowls, but I might have tossed them when we moved. I’m into Pyrex and glass containers nowadays.
I’ve never done a Tupperware party. Are they fun? Please advise.
None of the house party concepts are fun to me!! I always dreaded being invited when it was more of a thing!!!
I thought those selling houseware parties were dying out, but I was recently invited to a Pampered Chef party. The hostess was new to the family, so I felt obliged to buy something from her. I could do it online, so I didn’t have to go in person. I hadn’t been invited to one of these kinds of parties in years.
I have a “pizza saver” unit that I love - pizza wedge shaped, stackable and with dimples in the bottom to keep the crust from getting soggy. Apparently they were a limited item because when I wanted more of them I had to source them on eBay.
And I’ve seen Dixie’s Tupperware Party more than once. So very funny - like tears running down your face funny. Note - don’t sit in the front row unless you want to be a participant in Tupperware Party games!
My mom has the green grater with the little bowl that catches the food. She swears by it and she’s 90 years old.
I have every bowl produced in the 70s 80s and 90s. All of my bakeware and measuring cups, measuring bowls, teaspoons are Tupperware. I have a large cake taker. I have the cupcake taker. I use the huge bowls for my tortilla masa.
My husband melted my favorite salt shaker that was the perfect size, about 4 inches I think, but I do have the pepper shaker.
