<p>Ok, i feel so dissapointed in my self. My dad gave me a speech last night and said that what i’m working for isnt the short term, it’s a marthahon theres always graduate and law school. So </p>

<p>I have a 3.0 through 2 trimesters with this schedule for my freshmen year</p>

<p>English 1
Spanish 2
Forensics
Modern World
Algebra 2
PE
Physics</p>

<p>My next year classes are looking like</p>

<p>English 2(With a chance of honors depending on 3rd tri)
Spanish 3
US History (With a chance of honors depending on 3rd tri)
Economics
Geometry- I wanted honors my teachers a ■■■ and wouldnt give it to me. Then i wanted to double up doing pre cal also and she wouldnt sign off. I’m gonna go to the department head to talk to him about doubling up
Either Weight Training or Pe
Chem</p>

<p>Questions:

  1. Have you ever seen someone turn around from freshmen years as drastic as me or worse and get accepted to a top 20 college.
  2. My school works on a trimester, so the average gpa. How is it calculated. Is it each trimester is added all into 12 trimesters and then divided by 4? (We work on the traditional 4.0 scale) or is it the 3 trimesters add up divided by 3 equal 1 year then u take that year’s average and average it into the other 3.</p>

<p>My extra carriculars include by senior year probably:</p>

<p>4 years of varisty soccer I also played jv this year, JV captain- slight possibiilty of captain
3 Years V CC with great possiblilty of captiain 1 year JV CC
1 Year novice Crew(Required) probably 1 year jv then 2 year V dno</p>

<p>500 community service horus at Church and School</p>

<p>Reefs club - 3 years
Robotics club-3 years
Movie Club-3 years</p>

<p>I’m not even gonna guess test scores, so please help me out, and i know its too early to be worrying but my school is highly competitive and they tell everyone that wat the students regret most is that they didnt get as good grades as they wanted when they were 9th and 10th graders. </p>

<p>Do you actually want to become a professional or lawyer? If you don’t, or you’re not sure, tell him to <expletive> off. He should know most Americans don’t have to endure that much education anyway, and certainly should not be telling you what you should be working for. You owe him nothing, least of all the right to determine your purpose.</expletive></p>

<p>Stanford, Princeton, and the UCs don’t look at freshman grades at all. Search the site for “freshman grades” if your dad wants proof.</p>

<p>Ask an upperclassman from your school – if it’s really highly competitive, some will probably know all the rules in the book.</p>

<p>Yes i Do want to become a lawyer and maybe a politician. </p>

<p>to the response towards #1 i know that those colelges do not look at your freshmen grades, but because of the grades i received in these classes i’m not eligible to take the hardest courseload possible from sophomore to senior year. Is it really that big a problem that i might only have 2 honors next year. I know my community service is good and i’ve been talking to my coach varsity soccer coach about the potential of being a recruited athlete.</p>

<p>Having “only” 2 honors classes certainly won’t help you, but it isn’t as though good colleges will throw away your application.</p>
