TV Show Binge-Watching

I’m catching up on Devious Maids. I love how this show is executed.

Also from Omar: “A man got to have a code.”

I tried to watch The Wire but my mom lives with us and the language in the first 10 minutes ruled it out for us for family viewing. I’ll have to try it when I have time to watch alone sometime. I loved west wing and S recommended Homeland so they are both on hold at the library. We love having a series to watch at night when there is nothing else on that we’re interested in. ( haha, most nights.)

Your mom might like Rosemary & Thyme.
Think Cagney & Lacey, but British & gardeners.

Comcast has 23 hours left on its “watchathon” so I can watch all the Showtime and HBO shows I can’t usually see. Last year I discovered “Homeland.” This year I’m through with season 2 of “Boardwalk Empire.” Steve Buscemi. It’s a 1920’s period gangster show. 23 hours left…gotta go…

For all of the fans of The Wire…you are so right!! Worked my way from beginning and started season 4. Amazing story, acting, characters. Best I’ve seen on TV.

I loved Buscemis character on 30 rock.
He played a cross dressing private investigator.

Just finished the first two seasons of Call the Midwife - a BBC series. Binged through those. Now it’s a wait until we pop to the top of the Netflix queue for season 3.

@dietz199‌ - after watching the whole series, I ended up reading the three books. Really enjoyed them!

I’ve binge-watched Modern Family and Parks and Recreation, in order to catch up on past seasons. I started with Firefly but got distracted, and I really feel I need to start over.

Currently, I’m doing the Britcom As Time Goes By. I love that show!

Just finished season 1 of Fargo. I am rather drained. Like the show but it can certainly be disturbing.

I loved loved loved Parenthood for binge watching. The acting is really good and the story lines are relevant.

We rarely binge-watch (our DVD collections of Lost and Medium are usually our poison of choice), but D is coming home and this means that every CSI and crime show will be binge-watched in our house!

:( to only seeing The Americans mentioned twice since it’s such a phenomenal show.

Thanks to this thread (and the emmy nominations), I just finished binge-watching Fargo. Excellent.
I think I’ll go looking for the Americans next. I appreciate all the tips!

Game of Thrones. I have avoided that show for several years because of the violence but finally caved after a friend of mine said she binge watched it. Way too good

Just binge-watched the first season of Homeland this weekend- only a couple of episodes left. Wow, it is really good.

Game of Thrones is good. I just take out my headphones for the squicky parts.
I just started watching Sons of Anarchy.
But I don’t binge watch, cause it’s summer & there’s lots to do.

Just finished binge watching “Louie”
Now started binge watching “The West Wing”
Hmmm, I guess I will have to do “Parenthood” next based on this thread

I’m watching the Dick Van Dyke Show from the first episode. It’s light summer fare and still laugh out loud funny.
Its giving me a glimpse into my moms life as a stay at home mom back in 1961. The subordinate wife role is probably very true to life at the time. The card table for bridge games. The much more formal dress of the day. So reminds me of my childhood. A fun, happy escape.

Major crush on Dick Van Dyke who turns 89 in December. He is currently filming another night at the museum movie.
