Two Questions on Housing

Hi everyone, had a couple questions on housing for next year.

I visited the housing application, but it doesn’t look like it’s active yet, which I understand. Is anyone sure when it will be activated?

My friend is going to be an Echols scholar next year. I am doing engineering, but I’m not a Rodman scholar. We want to room together. From what I understand, it is possible for us to both request this and I’ll likely be placed in Echols housing. Does it work this way? Can we still be roommates if it is a mutual request, despite the fact that he is in Echols and I am not?

Thanks for anyone’s input/experience with this.

May 1st

No idea

Thank you. So now my remaining question is:

If I request a roommate who is an Echols scholar (and I am not), how does that work? Would I be placed in the Echols dorms?

it is up to the housing gods

The policy when I was a first year (two years ago) was that requested echols/non-echols pairs will be placed together in echols housing. I don’t think it has changed – the people in charge of echols are really into the concept of honors housing first year.

Thanks for the answers. My friend got the inclination (I guess when he visited) that it was possible as well.
