Berklee or Boulder? Thanks
Boulder. I just corrected it now. Thanks for flagging!
Decisions appear to be out. My daughter just got her admission letter.
Daughter was accepted OOS communications but no mention of merit.
Son accepted today for computer science.
Son is accepted in Electrical Engineering, no mention of scholarship. It is OOS for us.
Has anyone got any merit $$ from Boulder? We are OOS and it is the only admitted OOS school so far who have not offered anything to us ( and the most expensive! ). TY
Nope, we even emailed about it, they gave nothing.
Major problems with the Scholarship Portal today, right? D25 noticed that the deadline was extended (and a good thing, since she only noticed it a few days ago) to tonight at 11:59 MDT, and it seems the page/ server crashed. She tried it on 5 different browsers on Macs, PCs, phones, and tablets, and no luck. Hoping itās extended again by even just a day so she can submit her app.
D25 got 6500/yr.
Can someone clarify the language requirements at CU. My child got this email:
World Language
*Unrelated to the admissions process, students will need to fulfill certain courses to meet CU Boulderās graduation requirements. *
*In order to have the world language graduation requirement satisfied through high school coursework, students are strongly encouraged to take three consecutive years of the same world language and up to third level proficiency in high school regardless of what major they are applying to. *
If a student has only taken one or two consecutive years of the same world language in high school, the third year must be taken once enrolled at CU Boulder and the credit hours will be applied towards graduation.
My child took 3 years of Spanish in high school. Does that mean that they will not have to take a language at CU? Do the high school language classes basically check a box at CU that they have done that or are the grades and credits actually transferred and will be on their CU transcript now?
My student thought she was going to Cal Poly SLO or a small LAC on the East Coast but is now waivering (cry, cry) and shifting toward Boulder (with 2 days to go) which is totallly fine with us. But, we just noticed one thing, and wanted to know how it impacted othersā decisions. CU does not award a BS in biology it seems, only a BA from A&S (not engineering). So we are worried about job prospects in biology/conservation or getting into grad school with only a BA as opposed to a BS. Any thoughts? Otherwise the programs look really great and CU seems like āthe whole packageā.
