I’m a first year engineering student at university of manitoba. I also applied to the 2nd year u of calgary mechanical engineering. The reason why I applied to the u of calgary is because I’d like to work in a oil related industry and also because those people earn higher salaries. I’ll also enroll in the petroleum minor in u of calgary. I am wondering if it worth transferring to the university of calgary. Is u of calgary’s mech. eng. program any better than that of u of m? I really need some advice.
Thanks in advance
The oil industry is collapsing. A lot of people are losing their jobs. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/energy-and-resources/oilpatch-layoffs-spread-to-downtown-calgary/article23527525/ I’d seriously rethink your plan.
You are correct. I should ask some experts whether the oil prices are going to get any better. What about the mechanical engineering program? The courses offered in these two universities are slightly different. I feel like u of manitoba’s mech. eng. program is better in terms of offered courses. I need an expert opinion.
