They usually tweet when they send them out, and last year they sent them on the 7th (the estimated notification date was also the 15th). I’m not sure if that will be the case this year, but people seem to get them usually a little before the official date on the website.
I think the info I got the other day was wrong. The portal will update.
Will it? I got the email, but I know that in the past it’s usually by letter. I guess they’re doing it a little differently this year.
Whoa – you got an email for ED? Congratulations?I? We did not do ED, but excited for you nonetheless.
It wasn’t an acceptance yet, but it said that there will be an “upcoming decision release on the Spider Portal.” But thank you, I hope it works out in our favor for the both of us! Good luck!
Did anyone else get an email today from the office of admissions? The header was “Upcoming decision release on the spider portal”, so does this mean they are using the portal to release decisions? I’m just confused because I know they normally mail out decisions.
@PhoebeC I did get the email. I guess they are sending them through portal this year based on what they said? I’m not actually too sure.
I applied ED 1, and I received this email yesterday: “We’re preparing to release Early Decision admission decisions in the coming days. Please double check that you can access your Spider Portal and be in touch if you need assistance.”
So both? or one of the two?
Also, the subject line was this: “Upcoming Decision Release on the Spider Portal”
sorry: i didnt refresh my page
When my son (2021) was accepted, they tweeted when they put the envelopes in the mail. It was a Friday afternoon, and I think last year was a friday also. My guess is that they will tweet when they have posted the decisions on the portal, and maybe still send the envelopes. My daughter is applying ED1. I think she is refreshing the portal 20 times a day!
@Mamajoemoopsie Several people said it was mailed on or around Dec 7th last year. So, I am hopeful that the portals will let us know tomorrow. I was thinking they might do it on the 13th, which is next Friday, but tomorrow would be great.
My son applied AD1. He was asked to report his grades for first quarter last week or the week before last week. You guys were not asked?
@nancy1550 First quarter grades are a requirement, so I sent mine in when they were finalized a few months ago, but as long as they get them at some point it’s ok.
@Nancy1550. My daughter was not specifically contacted to report her first term grades because it was part of the application checklist on the portal and she knew to report them as soon as they were available. Its only if you do not report them in a timely way that you are contacted. That happened to us when my son applied a few years ago. Richmond texted him and gave him 24 hours to report them. So glad they sent that text! Our high school typically does not report first term grades and we had to fight with them to get them sent! All that being said, I think its a good sign that they asked. If they were going to reject him, they may not have bothered asking. Just a thought. Good luck to you.
Thanks very much. It makes a lot of sense. You are right, my son got a text message.
I reported the grades on the portal. So, I assume that is why I wasn’t asked for them. My semester grades won’t be ready until after finals later this month.
Any idea of when EA will be released?

Any idea of when EA will be released?
I assume that it would be posted on the portal sometime in the next week, but I’m not sure.

Any idea of when EA will be released?
EA decisions are released in January. Jan 25 is the date they have on their website, but it will likely be a little before then.
In previous years, students were able to “log in” and access a “deposit page” before their decision. Can you do that this year? It seems fishy but you never know
