If we switched from EA to EDII and had our EA application for months, would they give us the decision with the EA applicants? Why would they wait?
I’d doubt it. They’d wait because you opted to be reviewed in a different pool of applicants; therefore, you wouldn’t hear back until the EDII release date deadline (Feb 15). Especially since I’d expect that they would need to send out financial packages with EDII decisions.

@GeorgiaC Yeah, I do think that EDII is advantageous over EA since EDII is binding, and Richmond IIRC accepts a large portion of its class from EDI and EDII.
Since EA is non-binding it doesn’t carry the same benefits. So I think it’ll be easier to get in EDII

Good luck to you all! We are visiting Richmond with D21 in March and I have a feeling it could be a favorite. Did any of you consider ED? Did you do EA mostly because you’d like to see all financial offers or because Richmond isn’t your clear first choice? I could see us trying to decide between ED and EA next year. EA acceptance is perfect because she could see other acceptances in RD of course but I know ED acceptance rate is higher. Strategy is hard to figure out sometimes.
