Felt very bad for Athing……
watching Parker run the 5k with the big dogs and finishing with a PR and 5th place was very impressive! Not everyday that such a young athlete competes so well in distance. Most of the best distance runners are 10 years older than her.
She has proved herself as a world class distance runner. I am excited to see what she has for the 10k and in the future.

Watching track and field. There is a miniature Eiffel Tower that the qualifiers get to sign! How cool is that?!

Steeplechase is a fascinating event! You have to run 3k with a lot of jumping involved - and most of it has to be done In completely wet shoes!! 
There were 2 women from my state in the final!

I watched the replay. I feel bad for the woman who fell in the last 100 meters of the race. She also stumbled going over the last water jump. Her legs were dead.

I was soooo cheering for her! She is from our neck of the woods! Grew up in Redmond WA area. Went to Notre Dame! She is still 23 years old, and it was her first meet as a pro. She is determined to be back!
