Yeah, we just watched that 10,000 m race in person, it was quite a race! Definitely a different experience seeing it up close, though we didn’t have the best seats. For the other competitions, loved watching Gabby Thomas, and the women’s shotput certainly had some interesting characters. The #2 gal was quite the showboat. Interesting and extensive facial piercings, and at the end, she started twerking and then gyrating with pelvic thrusts on the ground. Wonder if that made it on TV?

We were wondering if it actually is a guarantee all three get to go. Only the #1 lady has achieved the Olympic standard, so reading about it, sounds like it depends upon their world rankings? But they all looked so happy, it made me think that they knew they were going to make it, though it doesn’t sound like a guarantee yet.

That would be bummer. I got the impression that all 3 would make it to Paris.
Maybe I interpreted the TV people incorrectly.
I have Covid for the first time–it’s not going too badly. Luckily, since I’m isolated in our room, my husband is going to bring the TV up here so I can watch the trials.

It definitely sounded like that would be the case. Apparently, they are now on a waiting list. Track has complex qualifying rules!

I love Simone. So glad she is back! I love to watch college gymnastics, especially UCLA! Jordan Chiles is my favorite! But I love that Jordan, Jade, Suni and Leanne all competed in college. Go Team USA!!

The fact that her beam score was so amazing despite her fall too. Was very high in the difficulty category. And that Hezly is something! She’s only 16.
Simone is on the far older side for gymnasts and she continues to excel at the highest caliber of competition. She’s a generational talent.

I was babysitting for a 6 month old. She did not care for the men’s long distance race but really like the women’s gymnastics, especially the floor ex with the music and the sparkly twisting things going on.
