Hello I will be attending UB in the fall and I will most likely be signing up for ROTC but first I was wondering:
1.) Is ROTC guaranteed for all qualified applicants who apply? or is their an application process and limited space etc…?
2.) When I look up ROTC for Buffalo it leads me to a link that says “The University at Buffalo currently offers an Army ROTC program in conjunction with Canisius College.” Is ROTC physical training held at UBuffalo or at Canisius and how easy or hard is it to get to Canisius for training (if its held their) from UBuffalo without a car?
3.) Does ROTC pay for all of your college (Tuition and Room and Board)? or is it just a $300 stipend a month?
Turning pages to FYI Communities:
1.) How do I apply? I don’t see any links to apply
2.) I applied for housing a month or so ago is to late to change my preference to FYI?
And to Financial Aid:
1.) Is it to late to appeal UB’s finicial aid decision?
2.) Is calling them effective or is writing them the only realistic route?
I recommend that you contact the ROTC unit at Canisius: rotc1@canisius.edu
Generally, ROTC will accept all qualified applicants, but at some schools this might not be the case. Getting a scholarship, however, is competitive.
If you are not on scholarship, you will get no money from ROTC until your junior year. However, you can get a scholarship after you have enrolled. It's a long shot, but you might even get a scholarship for this fall (if the Canisius ROTC unit has any left. Contact the unit about this.)
Physical training probably can be done at UB, but ROTC classes appear to be at Canisius. Again contact the unit at Canisius for details.
Just curious NROTCgrad what option did u pick after graduating? For the army its either I join the national guard, full time army, or army reserves right now I’m thinking that I would like to join the National Guard after graduation because you get to help out after natural disasters but what would you recommend? Ill be majoring in business but I’m fine with joining a mos not about business and getting the diffrent experience.
