UBC Personal Profile troubles

I’m an average student who tried to get into UBC directly after high school but wasn’t able to due to poor marks (I was in the IB program but did rather badly) . Now after a few years of college I’ve improved and my college GPA is 3.55; the range stated on the UBC website for Arts transfers is 2.8 to 3.3. However the personal profile has also been introduced as a mandatory part of the application - you have to write about extracurricular stuff you did, which actually has a lot of weight on whether or not you will be accepted, in addition to your marks.

My problem is that I’ve done zero volunteer work since high school and haven’t been involved in the community, in sports, or anything else. I have very little to show my “value” as a person.

So my question is, should I bother volunteering or doing anything else extracurricular NOW (application deadline is January 15th so I have a month and a half to do something) to improve my profile, or is that pointless? Would it just seem obvious that I’m trying to boost my chances?

This will be tough, as u can’t really make up the volunteering experiences and stuff becuz they have the “referee rule” now…
I don’t know what advice to give you, maybe apply to another school? Or maybe try to get into UBC forestry first and transfer
