I have a question, I was reading last years forum and noticed that some people where offered admission, but for spring semester. Does anyone know how that works? Thank you.
Has anyone received emails from UC admissions asking for clarification of something on the application/copies of unofficial transcripts? I have received two now, both from UC Davis. Just wondering what this means (if anything) and why the other schools have not gotten in touch with me with similar questions.

@resonanx no, one email asking for an explanation for a gap on my application and one asking for an unofficial transcript from one of my colleges (a university in PA). i’m just wondering if i should be worried that i’m getting this kind of scrutiny from Davis but not UCLA or Berkeley.
To me it sounds like they think there might be some sort of discrepancy or things they just really want to double check, because something seems odd … or confirming out of state university units.
@goodmarks All UCs will see your email to Davis so the other schools don’t need to ask the same questions again.
I also received an email asking for explanation and transcripts. Even though I clearly stated that I did not attend any colleges during that period.
@briank82 what specifically do you think they’d be checking re: out of state units? i did the required unit total at a CA CC and will be IGETC certified by the end of spring.
Thanks @rashomon369. Did your email come from Davis too? I’m just concerned that it was their admissions department who asked for the explanation and not Berkeley.
My advice would be not to stress about it honestly.
@goodmarks Mine came from UCSD. It could be that they just happened to ask it first and so the other schools wouldn’t need to ask it again. Or maybe it never occurred to the other admissions officers to ask because the answer was plainly stated in my application. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Cheers and good luck!
@goodmarks I received an email from UC Berkeley asking for unofficial transcripts and another from UC San Diego asking about a gap in education.
Hey guys. For spring quarter I was unable to get the classes I reported that I would take on the MAP@Berkeley and TAG because they aren’t being offered. Who exactly should I e-mail about this? And then should I just update the TAG on the application? Do I have to notify someone?
@tooweirdyo As long as it still fulfils the same requirements, you don’t need to notify.

My winter quarter grades don’t come out for at least another two weeks… what do I do? Why did I get this?
Sounds like a routine follow up.
I’m assuming your on the quarter system? IMHO, just reply that your winder grades haven’t been finalized and link them your CCC’s academic calendar showing a finals schedule or the grade submission deadline.
Thanks @SDGoldenBear. I’m just worried though because I’m scared some of my winter grades will end up being Bs or A-'s… and I had been under the impression that winter quarter wasn’t considered. Sigh.
I’m just curious what classes you are taking in this winter quarter? Are you taking Major pre-req or like English / Math requirement?
@Hiroaki0422 Done with English, math. I’m done with all my requirements so just dabbling around. And then while I’m done with the necessary major pre-reqs I am taking one course that falls under a major pre-req.
Don’t worry about it. Just do what they ask. I wouldn’t be surprised if the grades aren’t even looked at and if they are, B’s or A-'s probably mean very little, if anything.
@briank82 Well, on a positive note, I do think I did decently this quarter… I didn’t slack off, and they should be all A’s, except unfortunately a couple A-'s in there, too. If you don’t mind me asking, what makes you think that? I’m assuming that since I got that message I’m a borderline candidate which is ah, pretty nervewracking. Sigh. But I’d love to hear otherwise if I’m wrong lol
