UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

@Cgs16
You needed to do both. On Berkeley’s application portal, most got a form that was specific to their major that required you to input the completed prerequisites for your major. Everyone got the second form, which required you to input the general ed requirements that you should have completed. You can’t even access Berkeley’s transfer update form anymore, the deadline was February 2nd. I would email them, but chances are they have already reviewed the applications and are in the process of finalizing decisions anyways, so it probably won’t do much.

I sent an email to the UCs informing them of a change in my spring quarter schedule. All responded but Berkeley. Should I be worried guys?
PS: Paranoia at its finest haha

guys I have breaking news.

I called admissions, and they said that they will have to reject every transfer applicant.

Thank you and have a good day

:-@

I would probably shed tears.

Side note: We can no longer see the class schedule for next Fall through schedule.berkeley.edu - they have a new site, and it is only accessible if one is already a student. However, someone worked some magic, so the full schedule for Fall 2016 is here.

Lies. UCB can’t just up and reject EVERY transfer applicant. [-X

@goldencub , it is possible that I missed the beginning of this conversation about the transfer unit cap, but it is my understanding that the cap is 90 transferable semester units for Berkeley. Davis and Merced are at 80, and UCLA is at 86.5 according to the spreadsheet that I planned my courses around.

@ImThinking That’s only applicable if the student has upper division courses. A student can come in with 200 lower division courses and it just caps it at 70 and it isn’t an issue, with the student admitted as a junior-level transfer. But if there are upper division courses on their transcript, then the cap becomes an issue.

You might be aware of that, just not sure what part of the convo you saw or are responding to.

@VeniVidiVici1 You should definitely update your grades on the UCAPP website and update any changes for your spring schedule.

https://calcentral.berkeley.edu. Is anyone able to log into cal central using their MAP@Berkeley account? I think admitted students should be able to log into this…

Anyone else apply for the leadership scholarship? They said they’d email us about a status on April 8th which is tomorrow.

@ibtes96

Are you just kidding? I’m very scared of scams, but seeing that the website you linked is an edu, I feel more comfortable about using it.

I can’t login to it. Are you guys sure about this?

@Ibtes96

What should it say if you are able to log in?

You guys need to calm down and wait till the 29th. You won’t be able to log into anything until decisions are out. There’s no hidden “maybe this means I got in!” things. UC Berkeley will let you know if you were admitted or not on the 29th, that’s pretty much it.

@sdsu84 I did. Not really expecting to get it, but I applied anyway.

I thought it was the 9th?

I just checked the email, it’s the 8th @goldencub :smiley:

:expressionless:

@goldencub
Yeah same I doubt I’ll get it. Just checked my email and it says the 8th, you could be right though
