UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

Are you guys going to Calso by yourself or are you bringing other people? Also, do they charge to bring extra guests? So confused and irritated about having to pay so much but I know it’ll be beneficial so I’m going regardless -_-

Did you guys pay right away for the Welcome Reception and Calso or do we pay later? I submitted everything but there was no where to put my credit card information

@arashid142 I will come alone

@ivy2018 I am flying from LA. You?

@iccricri You are doing it through etang, correct?

They charge for extra guests. :frowning:

I think we pay later, or maybe the day of

Does anyone know a good place to live?: Me and my boyfriend are both going. With on campus apartments could get a single then still live with him?

How do I decline Berkeley acceptance?

@jonuni94 yes. U have to go through etang to do it.

Is anyone leaning towards Martinez Commons??

I will also (very likely) be attending the welcome reception in Costa Mesa on the 11th!

R the welcome receptions free or do u have to pay for them too?

the welcome receptions are free and calso is billed to your account so you pay with fall fees

Question. If I go to calso, should I attend the welcome reception as well?

Yes, there is a small amount of overlap but they are mostly different. The welcome reception is mostly general information and CalSO is mostly major specific information.

Hey guys! I understand that UCLA has Transfer Bruin Day (which is somewhat like an open house geared for transfer students to persuade admitted students to commit to UCLA http://bruinday.ucla.edu) but I was wondering does CAL have anything similar to this? Thanks for the help guys! [:

How do we get a student ID number? I need it for a housing application… Also, I just finally SIR’ed… it says my CalCenter will be updated shortly. Should I expect a sign up for CalSo to come up soon? If not, how exactly do I sign up for the orientation?

Thanks so much.

@CCstudent12345

They have Transfer Weekend which is this weekend (May 6th - 8th).

All the “Paid by Cal” spots have been allocated already but if you have a way of getting up to Berkeley, they might still be able to allocate you for some of the programming. Contact Bridges ( https://www.facebook.com/bridgesrrc | http://www.bridgesberkeley.org/ ) if your interested.

Thank you so much @SDGoldenBear

Is there a website to sign up? I couldn’t find the information page specifically detailing Transfer Weekend
