That was updated on Sunday, I think it was a delayed notification. I have my old conditions printed out and I can’t find a single difference
Hi @screenname34 would you please be able to show me your conditions on what it currently states on your UC Berkeley’s offer of admission please? I’m not going to lie, I’m freaking out a little and would really help me feel at ease.
My admission packet (if it can even be called that) came in the mail! It’s far less elaborate than UCLA’s packet, but less is more. Berkeley’s admission letter print-out is extremely nice.
@briank82 congrats! I still haven’t heard anything yet about housing. We put in our application on 4/30 but we had to upload each of the kids birth certificates so I think that added a day or two… hopefully we hear soon.
Have you @ivy2018 ?
@MikeSauce when did you submit your application for family housing? I’m getting nervous
May 2, there was a glitch with my profile and I had to call, my app was fairly straight forward tho, no special needs or accommodations, just me and the old ball and chain
@Sanla124 You are definitely ahead of me, priority-wise, in the process, but you’re right that needing to upload additional documents could have slowed it all down.
Are you trying to get a 3 bedroom? That might be why, but I think more offers will go out Monday morning.
@MikeSauce You going to anything on Saturday? I think I’m going to go to the veteran orientation in the morning, leave, then come back for the hail and farewell at Memorial Stadium with my wife. Gonna skip the general orientation stuff though.
Gotcha, thanks. The only thing extra we had to do was the birth certificates, but they required us to send them via email. So I think in order for us to actually get on the waiting list, they had to receive them. Another thing I just realized is our move in date is after 7/5. So that could be why they’re waiting on us. I hope lol
Congratulation to all of you accepted to Cal. I hope to see you here this fall. MAKE SURE you meet with your faculty adviser and determine the appropriate major declaration paperwork. This surprises a lot of people but it is possible to change your major when you’re up here, you just need to be enrolled in the last prerequisites in your first semester here.
Congrats! Go bears!
@briank82 we do have one 3bd on our preference list. I just checked the email we got from them before, they recieved the documents and put us on the active wait list on the 2nd. But our move in date isn’t until 7/2 because my husband’s cc is quarter based. so I think that’s going to delay an offer a little bit too.
@Sanla124 Oh, yeah … if you move the move in date sooner, you’ll be better off.
I (and @MikeSauce) put our preferred move-date around the end of May, and both our offers for housing were for late June.
You can go back in, I believe, and amend your move-in date. You can gamble on making it earlier with the hopes that an offer for move-in is right when you need it, but definitely the later out it is the more they’ll be in more demand.
@Burdened How soon could we meet with our advisors to change our major?
@briank82 hmm that’s good advice. I’ll talk with my husband about it. Do you know if you have to move in right on the move in date they offer?
@Sanla124 Physically move in? If so, no I don’t think so. But you do enter into a legal contract with them on that date. You start paying on that date. Worse comes to worse, you might just end up paying rent on your current lease and a new lease. But, if that means you secure affordable family housing through Berkeley, a potential overlap of leases could easily pay for itself.
It is definitely something to consider for the sake of giving yourself the best chance of securing quality affordable housing.
@briank82 I agree with you. Yes as long as we can wait to move in physically. I don’t mind starting the contract at that time
Hey, has anyone tried bConnected in order to sign up for CalSo? I keep getting an error…
Ah, sorry for the double post, but I’m also not able to set up my CalNet ID. I did just pay my SIR fee today. Hopefully tomorrow these will work? Or am I doing something wrong.
@tooweirdyo it typically takes ~ 24 hours to process your SIR before you are allowed to create a CalNet ID.
I just got an offer for summer housing, could you please tell what does this mean:
“Unit 2 RH Std Triple”
Does this mean we’ll be three in the same room?
Thanks!
From the application packet, it sounds like they incorporate your CCC prerequisites into the declaration GPA as well but I would verify with Laura.

It doesn’t quite work like that. Everyone accepted into L&S is technically undeclared (including pre-admits) and you can declare a major any time you meet the prerequisites. (Or will finish the prerequisites at end of the semester.) Some majors can be declared right away while others require a semester or two of prerequisites. The majors have very different requirements and the capped majors must be declared by set deadlines before the end of your first semester.
The only difference with pre-admits is they have priority for reserved spots in some courses.
The housing offer is for a Unit 2 residence halls (high rise) triple so yes, if you accept, you will have two roommates. Check out videos on youtube as all the high rises are the same.
If you don’t like what you received but are okay with opting into the housing contract you also have an option of asking for a transfer. If you apply early, there is a decent chance of switching to a different location. (Unlikely to move into a double though.)
The transfer request procedure can be found here:
