Hey, does anyone know how I can find out what my student id number is?
@iccricri no way? wow, that’s annoying haha. I just emailed a transfer admission counselor to what they would say also so fingers crossed I get a reply soon. But, honestly this gives us a chance to maybe intern or work somewhere during our semester off, it does have its downside though because I’m not used to just not going to school lol
congrats on your acceptance though! what’s your major?
@briank82 I believe so. According to http://eop.berkeley.edu/financial-assistance/ you are eligible to receive fee deferments and/or reductions in housing, readmission, etc. Also, if you are planning to pursue a graduate degree, they offer Graduate/Professional School Admissions Exam Prep Courses so I think that is definitely a bonus as well. In regards to studying abroad, they have a scholarship opportunities for students wishing to do just that. There are also other great perks about being EOP in my opinion.
@by3000 thanks! Congrats too! Im an anthro major. I was also thinking about interning as well. I just don’t know how to go about doing that. I don’t think anthro internship work is common around the bay area. How about u, whart your major? Oh and please let me know if they ever contact u about being able to attend another university. The thing is that the deadline to SIR for csueb was May 1 so i don’t even know if I could even attend anymore
Can people still apply for EOP or did the deadline pass. Also im attending in the spring 2017 so i don’t know if the dates r different??
Wait, what’s this about housing themes? Attending meetings and seminars? Is it mandatory to be a part of a certain theme? Can we just leave that part blank in the housing application?
I just got an email from EOP but im not sure if its saying that im am officially enrolled in EOP or if im being considered for EOP…cause there was no where on the page that said to confirm if we do actually want to be part of EOP. Do we have to confirm or is it automatic. For those u guys that got into EOP what did your emails say? And there’s nothing in calcentral about it.
@nickzzz dang I didn’t! Did it offer you an interview?
anyone able to complete the L&S Academic Program Planner (APP)???
I agree with @goldencub on the admissions “packet”. The UCLA one was very nice but for some reason the simplicity of the Berkeley one appeals to me more!
@iccicri, it looks like we’re automatically considered EOP and it will be up to the individual how involved with the program you are. My email says “Congratulations, we are pleased to inform you that you are an EOP student”. I assume that you are automatically considered one if you are low-income, first-generation, or a historically underrepresented minority such as black, Hispanic, Native American etc.
@iccricri in the subject it says, “Welcome to UC Berkeley from the Educational Opportunity Program!”
and the body it says:
Congratulations Golden Bear!
We are pleased to inform you that you are considered an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) student at Berkeley! (Learn more about EOP criteria here)
For over 40 years, the Educational Opportunity Program at Berkeley has provided first generation and low-income college students with the guidance and resources necessary to succeed at the best public university in the world.
EOP is excited to join you and your family in celebrating your admission to Berkeley! We invite you to check out our website and add our Facebook page to learn more about how EOP can support you in your new journey at Berkeley eop.berkeley.edu

*Hope this helps :)?
@ivy2018 Hello,
I will be attending Berkeley this weekend for the bridges transfer program. I received an emailed today with all the details and we do not have to worry about transportation. Bridges will provide transportation for the time we are there. Also, attached to the email was the three forms we have to sign and turn in to them.
hello are you guys coming to Chancellor’s reception on Saturday 1 pm? When I tried to register it was full. :-<
Does EOP help in any other way aside from having EOP counselors who are about as useless as the regular counselors?
@xela007 I am.
Yeah. It is an interview. I chose the one which will take place at downtown la on 21.
@tada77 Thanks! Guess I’ll have to sign up for CalSO…
@iccricri an admissions counselor just relied back to me! He said you cannot attend another school such as CSU east bay, but can go to a CC with approval if you’re a spring admit to Cal. But I’m a business economics major!
& yeah that is tough in terms for finding an anthro internship, best of luck! you could always go on internships.com lol I had a friend who got an internship at Target Corporation as a business marketing intern!!
