@arashid142 So IGETC is saying that many colleges consider 2 years of high school language to be equivalent to one semester of their college level language course. When that distinction is made and those are considered equivalent, one semester at the college will satisfy IGETC. However, other groups make their own requirements. My major requires 3 high school years to satisfy the language requirement, while it looks like IGETC does only ask for 2. The L&S requirement can be satisfied with IGETC certification for transfers-so if you have that then you should be good.
Colleges and majors will be different. Haas requires 3 years of high school or a year of college. I took two semesters of a 3 unit class that was 1a and 1b (rather than 5 unit 1 and 2) and it fulfilled it all. I’m not IGETC though.
Did anyone else get in as an appeal? I got an email from Donna Brennan saying congrats, but my portal hasn’t updated or anything? I don’t know if this was an accidental email or something haha, freaking out right now!
@KabirC what did it say?? I was wait listed and they said we wouldn’t find out until after June 1 most likely. Did you submit your appeal before 5/15?
@tada77 Thanks! I called and they said IGETC fulfills it so I’m good:)
hey guys I had a couple questions:
-
I took a winter fast track course and so do I need to report my grades because I don’t see the option to. Or will submitting my official transcripts will be enough?
-
I tried signing up for the L&S advising but it got canceled? but on cal central it says its overdue? am I the only one having this problem?
oh one more! I got called in for jury duty during june and so if I can’t attend Calso then can I sill sign up for classes during that time or will I have to wait until august?
I just submitted my SIR and this is the message I get on the sidebar:
Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) has been received successfully. We are currently updating your SIR status in our system. Soon you will see additional tasks in CalCentral. Please check back periodically to see important messages and to complete new applicant tasks.
I haven’t indicated my residency status nor paid the $100. Is there a problem?
Why can’t I create my ID? It says it’s forbidden “You are not allowed to view this page”
After u submit your SLR, I got a message saying it’s subject to review by a residency deputy. Is this normal?
@Philosoup yeah they have to make sure that everything you submitted check outs.
Thank you @zabster ! Any idea around when after submitting SIR I can apply for housing? It should show up in the dashboard right?
Can Someone tell me how to check an email coming to my @berkeley.edu account? I should have created one
@Hiroaki0422 On CalCentral, there’s a Mail icon on the upper right of your dashboard which should be linked to the berkeley.edu account you set up.
@Philosoup It should pop up on the scheduled list in less than 24 hours. it could possibly take longer since its a holiday weekend; I’m not too sure how that plays into effect with these things
Any of you guys know of what the possibility of getting a single room through Berkeley housing is?
@calbear2016fall UC Berkeley housing, or apartments near campus? If the latter, then it’s definitely possible, but you may be paying $1100-1200 for a decent one. Cheap, decent single rooms are hard to find.
@goldencub what about on campus housing? We do technically quality since we’re juniors right?
@goldencub Uc berkeley housing
Has anyone used Parchment to send out-of-state digital transcripts? If so, what recipient and recipient email address did you use?
