@Giantfloss Only if you do well in them, and even then, not really. Your GPA is more important. But if you get mostly As in honors classes, then that will certainly look good.
But honors classes aren’t necessary at all. If anything, take them because you want to challenge yourself.
I’ll be writing a guide on transferring to the UCs sometime this summer. I’ll post it on here (and hopefully get it sticky’d), because I know a comprehensive guide will help future applicants.
Hi all, I am arranging my classes and making sure my final exams do not conflict, but are the exams according to the lecture or discussion of the course? Any help is appreciated! thanks in advance
@returningstud, Final exams are based, for the most part, according to your lecture start times although there are special classes with specific “group” finals.
AFAIK, Athletes, Regent’s Scholars, and other priority enrollment started on April 6th while high unit students (like graduating seniors) began on April 11th. The next tier of enrollment (like senior students and priority transfers) began on April 16th.
@SDGoldenBear I was typing on mobile so I suppose that it why those roman numerals turned out so odd, but I was referring to Phase 2. I know that enrollment began a while ago, but have continuing students already entered Phase 2? Or will freshman and transfer students have completed their phrase 1 beforehand?
The latter. Every official UCB student will have an official Phase I enrollment period before even the highest priority students have their Phase II. The only cases I’ve seen otherwise, usually involving international transfers, are due to registration holds (overdue fees, missing transcripts, administrative blocks, etc.)
Students not attending CalSO usually have around 1-2 weeks to finish their online orientation and enroll in their Phase I classes before the highest priority students begin their Phase II.
Any other Political Science majors get this email?: "Congratulations on being admitted to Berkeley, and welcome to Cal!
We received your name and e-mail address from New Student Services as incoming transfer students who are intended Political Science majors.
Due to a change in student information systems, we currently do not have access to your previous courses. If you have not already done so, can you e-mail us by Sunday evening with the name of your school(s) and Political Science and History courses (titles and course numbers) you completed at these schools?
Also, if you no longer intend to major in Political Science, please let us know.
We will need this information from you before we can release your advising hold and give you instructions regarding course options for the fall."
Anyone’s transcript on the dashboard still show as “INITIATED”? The deadline is literally tomorrow and a transcript I had mailed out around 2 weeks ago still shows as initiated instead of received. I called Berkeley and they say to just calm down as they have a lot to process, but I don’t know.
@Philosoup It should be fine. I mailed my HS one in about 3 weeks ago and it was taken off the list. My college one has been marked as completed. However I’m still waiting for the HS one to be marked complete.
