I recently got waitlisted from UC Berkeley. I am an international applicant from India. Are the chances of getting off the waitlist for any int applicant quite low? Also, Berkeley is my top choice and I really want to attend it.
I have:
ACT-32
IB- 42/45 Predicted Grades
Math 2- 800
TOEFL- 102
10th Grade results- 96.4%
@iwillyou from last yrs thread it is not clear if accepted students were IS … OSS or International. They were mostly discussing on majors and colleges. ENGG college ppl were accepted first. But ppl who were acccepted later were mostly not direct fall admits…they were given conditiinal acceptances which I think international students can not accept. So if we are off WL within 1st week of may then its ok orherwise forget CAL.
@Lifeissohard He means there is no confirm email sent to him, only a green tick like a “material received” indication on portal. Me too. I haven’t got any status confirm email. But… there is a more serious problem!! I am wondering if this is a common thing you lot all have… or it is just me… I hope not… I hope this is UCB’s problem not mine…
When I wrote on the word processor, I split the essay into several paragraphs, and when I copy-pasted it into the essay area the format still remained. But when I submitted it and went back to see by submitted form, I saw that all the paragraphs have become one big chunk! One word after one word throughout the essay.
i opted-in in a spur of the moment. i’m still really confused as to where i want to go next year, but last night at 4am i had this crippling realization i could be 100% debt-free at one of the best institutions in america or pull out 20k in loans at my current SIR at a top LAC. we’ll see though! (i applied to global edge initially, anybody have info on that?)
I have the same problem with the formatting. It had all the paragraphs correctly formatted, but after submitting they were all combined. Hopefully they understand that this is a problem because this definitely affects the effectiveness of my essay…
@socal1998 what do you mean by formatting? Did it stick all the words together like this “IwanttogotoUCBerkeley” or just stick the paragraphs together without leaving a line in between them?
Do you guys know if how later you submit your waitlist application will affect you? Im afraid that submitting near the deadline would negatively impact me.
