Did the offer letter say about 25% accept rate?
all it said was 87k applicants
Congrats to all accepted and welcome to Berkeley! If you ever have any questions and want to talk to a current student donāt hesitate to reach out!
Right now, there are some BEARS in my backyard. Go Cal!
I have made a decision to accept one of these offers. I would like to see if you would have made the same selection. All four options are amazing and I feel so fortunate. I would like to pursue a career in management consulting. Which option would you have chosen and why?
1.University of Michigan Ross Business School I was selected as a preferred admit.
2.UCLA (Pre Business Economics).
3.UC Berkeley Haas Business School Global Management Program (GMP). Also, got the Regents Scholarship.
- Emory University (Pre Business) with the hope of transferring to the Goizueta Business School.
I am in the same boat, except only 2 of the selections: Ross vs GMP.
Not sure what to choose as I have an international internship over the summer and GMP would definitely require me to cancel it. Whatād you choose?
ROSS BUSINESS SCHOOL⦠i think they renovated their building and created a honors residential hall for only ross business students. They put a lot of importance for their school. I think if i was you deciding between umich and ucb - best business schools. emory is known for medicine. PLUS, you got the regents schlorship for berkeley, and if you are in state this would be beneficial for you compared to ross. but both berkeley and ross have its advantages and disadvantages.
On my UC App I put that I āPlanā to take the AP Stats exam (as Iām currently enrolled in the class), but I didnāt sign up for the exam. Will I get rescinded from Cal for not taking the AP Stats exam? Iām worried⦠Please help⦠Let me know if youāre in the same situation!
I am beyond proud that Cal is such a holistic school. They do not ONLY look at stats and pick the top-tier āover-achieversā but actually look into it. I have stats that are slightly above average but nothing close to a perfect sat score or 14+ APs. My ECs are incredible and my essays have gotten feedback from 2 AP lit teachers saying it is their favorite and most touching out of their 13 years of teaching.
I was waitlisted at every single UC. So last night I looked back at my application, and without a doubt, i knew if i had the chance to reapply I would not change a single thing. I put everything I had in there and I wrote with all my heart.
UCB saw it and understood my challenges and mindset. GO BEARS!!!
you wonāt get rescinded - just let your assigned Admissions Counselor know about any differences in your app, such as the fact that youāre not taking the exam. Chances are that the reminder nag to turn in your score for the AP test will remain in your portal list of things to do for months, thatās the only ābadā thing.
Class of 2023! I canāt wait to see some of you guys at the admitted students day.
Cal Bears here she comes all the way from NJ! I canāt believe it (yes I can lol) D picked UCB over everything else (UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UMich, John Hopkins, Penn State, Rutgers, Boston University, Stevens and even CMU whenever it comes out lol).
What a long and somewhat stressful journey, but all is worth it! Hubs and I graduated from Cal (PhD and BS). I told hubs, bf at the time, that I would not send my kid here. He said oh of course WE would send out kid here! 23 years later here we areā¦
I thought reversed psychology would work in this case (just like everything else with this stubborn kid) that she would want to go to UCLA bc of us being at Berkeley. But nope, after the college visits she loved everything about UCB, the Bay Area, the campus, Berkeley the town, the food, even the homeless, and of course San Fran.
Circle of lifeā¦
@Nhatrang YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I was wondering when you were going to join the festivities! Congrats!!!
Ah thanks @ProfessorPlum168 thanks for everything! Thanks for the support, the advice the conversations, you and others have helped me getting through all my anxiety. I am so grateful to you and this place, strangers on the internet can do wonders sometimesā¦<3
I got in!!! and my stats are not even that good
@asianfu
How I would choose:
- Finance ā if youāre in-state for California or Michigan, Iād choose Haas or Ross respectively, without giving it a second thought. Might be different if youāre insanely rich or poor (fin aid) though.
- Fit. For me, this would be a secondary factor to look at only if cost differences are negligible. But fit includes everything from location, weather, culture, whether you want to study business over 4 years (Ross) or just the last two (Haas), etc.
As a Michigander, I know that weād love to have you, and if you decide to come, congrats!
Best of luck, and PM me with any questions.

D got in!
D accepted! So happy. Sheās planning on applying to Haas Business Administration.
SAT 1600 superscore, 1550 (twice), GPA 4.0UW, 4.52UCW, very good essays, so-so ECs
She also got awarded the Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship, so that covers tuition and books.
She was accepted to UCI Honors, waitlisted to UCLA and NYU, rejected UPenn, Cornell, Columbia. Waiting on Stanford tomorrow.
@GonnaBEmptyNest - Let us know about Stanford too.
